When we arrived, the receptionists tried to double charge me and when I told her I paid through Airbnb she called someone to say I showed her email confirmation of the payment which included our dog staying too. When the receptionist came off the phone she accepted the confirmation via email but insisted I paid £15 for the dog which I refused to pay as the dog was also confirmed on the email confirmation - eventually this was wavered. I was staying here for my 40th birthday and I just felt let down with how I was welcomed. I was also very disappointed with how tired the hotel was - there was an odd smell in our room the whole time. There was a noise in the room all day and night, I am assuming this was from the heating being on in the hallway day and night (what a waste of money). I stayed for afternoon tea and was very disappointed with it. The sandwiches were boring and the bread was dry. The stated of the Cutlery and tea kettle was awful- it definitely does not reflect the payment.
