We had an amazing stay!! Helen was a fantastic host and the house was perfect - in particular, the views from the house were absolutely stunning! We have already recommended the house to others and intend to stay again. Thank you Helen for a wonderful holiday.
Helen’s lovely cottage is in a stunning location, within easy reach of mountains and beaches. Helen kindly sent us lots of recommendations of local activities to do with our young children, and was extremely helpful in answering our questions about exploring the area. Dolgoch Falls are stunning, and well worth a visit. Having stayed in lots of holiday cottages before, this was the most child friendly place we have stayed. The children’s cutlery and crockery, games and bathroom steps were a thoughtful addition. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning soon!
Beautiful little cottage in breathtaking scenery. Helen was very helpful and friendly. Really enjoy and would reccomwnd
Absolutely fab place. Perfect location for recharging your batteries. Cottage is well-equipped and great comms. If you have an electric car, the 50KW charge points at Dolgellau and Machynlleth car parks are easy to use (and also 7kw, cheaper ones available if you’re taking your time - but you’ll need a cable). There’s also a 7kw just up the road at the Station.
Helen was a fantastic host; communication was great and was very thoughtful with her contact throughout our stay and leaving a lovely welcome basket for our arrival. The house is set in a wonderful position with amazing walks from the doorstep. The house was very comfy and the kitchen was well equipped. Thank you
Situated in the Southern part of the Snowdonia National Park, in a UNESCO World Heritage site, with access to lakes, waterfalls and miles of hill walking and mountain bike trails from the doorstep. Also, just a short drive away are the long sandy beaches of Tywyn, Aberdovey and Barmouth, and the picturesque harbour of Aberdovey.
To get around, you ideally need motorised transport, such as a car or motorbike. However, there are many good cycling routes and hiking trails from the doorstep. There is also a bus stop at the end of the road that will take you to the towns of Dollgellau or Tywyn. Tywyn also has its own train station which serves many destinations on the beautiful and scenic Cambrian Line. These include Barmouth, Harlech, Porthmadog, Pwllheli, Aberdovey and Machynlleth. From Machynlleth you can find connecting trains to Shrewsbury.

Hi I’m Helen, mum to two teenage girls and wife to one cycling mad husband. As a family, we love travelling and exploring the outdoors, whether it’s hiking, cycling, running, kayaking and paddle boarding. I grew up in North Wales and holidayed in mid wales as a child, surrounded by the beautiful welsh mountains, lakes and sweeping sandy beaches of the Cambrian Coast. I still love visiting the area and am still discovering its hidden treasures 40 years on!
