Vivienne and Neil have outdone themselves with this air bnb. Pictures do not do this place justice. My girlfriend and I stayed for a week taking day trips into the Cullins exploring all skye has to offer. The house was set right by the water with beautiful views in every direction. This house was immaculate in every aspect. We felt right at home and Vivienne was such a kind, and friendly host. We had everything we needed to enjoy our stay the house was clean. The kitchen was well equipped to cook while enjoying the views. The hot tub and sauna were perfect and the bedrooms and bathrooms had everything we needed. Everything in this house was well thought out and made for a great sanctuary on our vacation. We would love to come back…Thank you Vivienne and Neil!

Honestly, the Captains Rest is so special. Somewhere we would love to revisit and will be recommending to everyone we know. The pictures don’t do it justice at all. Just book it!! You won’t regret it.

The accommodation was better than first class, we have stayed in many self catering cottages and Captains Rest is by far the best. The views were amazing and hard to tear ourselves away from and we enjoyed watching the changing colours of the landscape with the changing weather. The welcome goodies were greatly appreciated and generous and the App was really helpful with lots of ideas for eating out, visitng places, etc. We had a truly relaxing holiday which restored the soul and enjoyed visiting various places on Skye, the scenery is something else. We hope to return to Captains Rest in the future.

I have stayed in many vacation rentals over the last 15 years, and Vivienne’s house has been the most fantastic vacation rental I have ever stayed in. The photos don’t even do this place justice. The views, the downloadable guidebook, the attention to detail, the fresh cut flowers, the charcuterie food….I could go on and on. This place has it all and the host has thought of every detail that made our stay perfect. We were all so sad to leave this wonderful home. Vivienne, you have set the bar EXTREMELY high for all future vacation rentals and I fear none will ever compare to yours. We loved our time on Skye, and hope to visit again!

Redefines a 5 star review. This place is even better than the pictures (something I didn’t think was possible). The house was spotless on our arrival, each room beautifully decorated and much bigger than we expected! The views from the house were spectacular and the huge doors at the front of the house in the kitchen, lounge and bedroom make sure you’re always looking out at the wonderful view. Vivienne left us a few little treats (including a cheeseboard!) to get us started which was well received after a long drive up to Scotland! Absolutely fabulous little winter holiday, thank you so much Vivienne and family ♥️
