Sheepwalk House is a large and charming 18 century house set on gorgeous lawn with beautiful views. The house has 9 bedrooms : 7 doubles and 1 twin all with ensuite bathrooms with showers and one small double room with no en suite. There are also 4 cottages on the property. which can be rented individually. Sheepwalk House is a comfortable, large country home. Relax and enjoy the incredible views from our large sun room, filled with light, plants and comfy spots to hang out. Our sun room connects to 2 generous living rooms, each with a wood burning stove to cosy up to when the sun goes down. The living spaces are the ideal place to get together with friends and family, enjoy a meal together in our spacious dining area, gather ‘round the piano, play some cards, enjoy a cocktail! The kitchen is well equipped and is home to a great range. Each bedroom offers beautiful views. 7 double bedrooms and 1 twin are en suite with shower. There is also 1 double bedroom which is not en suite. If you are looking to rent a large holiday home in Ireland, then Sheepwalk House is for you!

16 family members gathered from around the world to spend Christmas together for the first time in many years. It was a year in the planning and central to the celebrations was Sheepwalk House. We were to spend 3 days and nights there making memories and enjoying each other's company. The house was magnificent and exactly what we needed. Each couple had their own space and there were plenty of communal spaces to enjoy when we got together. Jenny and Matt had left us some eggs which were enjoyed after an early morning dip in the sea, as well as some delicious apple juice, pressed from their own apples. Thanks to Jenny and Matt and the fantastic presentation of their wonderful home, our family will always remember Christmas 2023!
The most perfect house for a family getaway. I can't recommend it enough. We will have the best memories of here for a very long time. Absolutely loved it!!!
Sheepwalk house was an absolutely incredible place to stay, stunning grounds, beautiful spacious house, Jenny and Matt had left everything so organised, labeled, everything was provided for us, they left us fresh eggs and a lovely greeting. Arklow is a lovely town, Britta's Bay just 20 mins away is a stunning beach for a swim. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would recommend to anyone. Thank you Jenny and Matt.
It’s a lovely place for a big family gathering. There’s a bbq with gorgeous view. A long table is enough for big family for dinner. Jenny and Matt are really friendly. We got some fresh eggs from their hens. We had a great time there. Highly recommended.
We LOVED this house and the land around it. Our family of 13, young children through 70yrs old all had a really wonderful time at Jenny and Matt's house. There was ample space, lots of areas to congregate or to get some privacy, and the kitchen is the most well stocked one of all the places I've rented through AirBnB. If you're on the fence about renting Sheepwalk, just do it. Worth every penny and frankly, I'd rent any property these two ran. It was a lovely experience from start to finish.

We are a less than one hour drive from Dublin city on the M11 motorway and a 10 minute drive from the M50, making us easily accessible from every major Irish city and port.
You may never want to leave Sheepwalk for the duration of your stay - and we totally get that. However, there are plenty of brilliant things to do just a stone’s throw away if activity is the name of the game. We are just 15 minutes drive from Brittas, one of the finest beaches in Ireland. We are close to many excellent hill walks and coastal strolls, too. (Kilmichael Point is one of our favourites!) Explore the beautiful grounds of Avondale House. Enjoy a tour of Mickey Finn’s excellent microbrewery and sample some of the finest ales. We’re only minutes from the original Avoca Mill, the birthplace of the Avoca experience. Check out another favourite, The Broken Chair Cafe, for beautiful fresh food and a warm welcome. There’s also lots to keep adrenaline junkies on their toes. Stunt Drive Ireland is less than 5 minutes from us. Practice the art of falconry with Falconry Ireland. Mountain bike your way through some of Ireland’s most exhilarating off-road bike routes. Golf on one of Ireland’s top ranked parkland courses at Woodenbridge. Get off the beaten track and trek with alpacas with the K2Alpacas team.
Arklow has everything you might need, too - from grocery shops, pubs, cafes to a cinema. We are also just 20 minutes drive from Gorey, which also features great cafes and a lovely bookshop.
As we are located in the countryside you will need your own vehicle. There are plenty of walks nearby but we are based off a long and windy road with no pavements so it is not safe to walk to town, bus stops etc.
There is a local taxi service that runs to and from Arklow where the local train station and bus stop are situated.

Hi there! Sheepwalk House is run by brother and sister Matt and Jenny Headen. Our unique property features a large main house, with 4 self catering cottages, a pretty courtyard and lawns. Each rustic cottage is styled differently, each one is cosy and comfy. We have bee hives, sheep, hens, pheasants, trees, flowers and wild birds. We look forward to welcoming you to Sheepwalk House
