I absolutely loved my stay at White Sandy Beach! It was so quiet and peaceful which is exactly what I was looking for. There was no running water or electricity but I personally didn’t find that to be too big of an issue. It is definitely a no frills stay, but that was fine with me! The beach and sunsets were gorgeous and the families running the two accommodations that are on the beach were lovely.

We had a memorable homestay at White Sandy Beach. The family are very welcoming and helpful. We loved the coconut demonstration and cooking lesson with Emi. Had a lovely massage by Emma. We were able to see a mantray on the snorkling trip at the end of the season which was very special. Snorkling at the homestay is also lovely, as well as a walk to honeymoon beach. There are more activities, but we only did a few with our 2 night stay. Please note this is a Fijian homestay not a fancy resort, but this makes it an authentic experience. You will need to BYO towel, toiletries and snacks. Catch the ferry from Nadi and get off at the White Sandy Beach stop with a smaller boat transfer to the island.

the location of this guesthouse was paradise like! a lonely bay, unspoilt beach and a beautiful intact coral reef right there, that is thriving and should definitely be well protected. we felt welcome and the service was friendly and very family like. unfortunately we were unlucky with the little hut we stayed in. the place just opened bavk up again after being shut down to to covid and seems quite run down. the price is still very fair, but it definitely needs renovation urgently. there is also no electricity and toilet/shower are very run down. the host was aware of it and plans to improve, but we were a little uncomfortable with the Lack of Hygiene due to a leaking toilet, mice and so on.

Emi, Emma, and Sai welcomed us as part of the family. Emma felt like mum, cooking for us and making sure we were on schedule and checking in about our stay. And Sai was like dad, teaching me to fish, and cutting coconuts for us. (I’m craving one now!) And Emi was the matriarch, teaching us about the history of Fiji. We interacted quite a bit with the staff and guests at the other resort as well (they are bigger). The lack of electricity and connectivity made for very connected nights around the campfire. We were lucky to get to play with the kids before they went back to school. An unforgettable Fiji experience!
