Welcome to a house of SC history, built just as the Civil War was ending. Five generations have loved this home. It used to sit as part of a farm on the dirt road between Greenville and Travelers Rest. The owners, still part of the original family, are nearby and willing to help accommodate as much as possible! You are within walking distance of the Swamp Rabbit Trail and Furman University. Travelers Rest, with all its charm, is a couple minutes up the road! Your dwelling place is over 150 years old: there are some quirks in the place but many modern conveniences as well!

Ann didn't just make us feel like guests, we felt like family!
Had a small group of family from various states come for a stay to see our daughter in the Furman Opera. The space was perfect for us to gather and very convenient to Furman. We're looking forward to spending a few more stays here hopefully for other events her senior year!
Everything was great, clean and responses were fast!
Everything was as described expect that I didn't realize that it was located so close to a major highway. I'm not used to any raod noise and I barely got any sleep. The house was very clean and easy to get to. My daughter loved seeing the animals.
Everything was as described. Ann left an instruction book with every possible question one could ask. The house was so amazingly stocked, the only thing we wanted more of was time. The farmhouse is so beautiful. We felt instantly at home from the welcome sign to the homemade cookies that awaited us when we arrived. The house has so much natural light and is so homey. My 9 year old LOVED feeding the sheep and playing in the barn with the barn cat, Maple. Every morning and every night, my daughter had to run out and say good morning and good night to the animals. By the last day, the sheep looked sad as she left them. I am already trying to figure out a time to go back and visit. The house is convenient to Travelers Rest and Greenville. We loved being so close to everything we needed. The house is off of a busy road, but I swear it doesn't feel like it when you're on the porch drinking coffee with the sheep. You will not regret your visit one bit. It's so peaceful and cozy.

Furman University is within walking distance. Their campus is one of the prettiest in the country and boasts beautiful gardens, an array of wildlife, and many hideaways for picnics or a scenic nature walk! Paris Mountain State Park is nearby and worth a visit. Hiking, mountain biking, paddle boating, and picnicking are just some of the activities they offer. Leopard Forest Coffee Shop is close and one of our favorites! Try our Travelers Rest roasted coffee (you will find some in the farmhouse for your stay) and relish the pleasure of a cup of local coffee. Downtown Greenville, voted by Forbes Magazine as one of America's best downtowns, is within a 10 minute drive. If you are interested in a short day trip, Asheville, NC is an hour away and Hendersonville, NC is about 40 minutes away.
The Swamp Rabbit Trail is very close, linking you to Greenville by way of a bike ride, a run, or a leisurely walk!

I am a country girl at heart. My husband and I have been married 41 years and most of those years have been here at the family property! We built a house nearby 37 years ago. I love to wander, mostly outdoors.... I love quiet pursuits: walks, cooking, animals, knitting, others. I consider it an honor to meet you as you travel our way.
