Other reviews captured the many Loft positives—host communication(!), responsiveness, cleanliness, + comfort! The 19th-century building was beautiful! And it was great to have the back yard and the park (across the street), plus Main Street for dog and people walks. We especially enjoyed learning about Sharon Springs' most amazing history through the town's interpretive signage. We also had the pleasure of enjoying: the Stone House Farm Sunday breakfast (all-you-can-eat maple extravaganza: maple-sugar for coffee; maple butter for pancakes/waffles; and maple syrup for all); 204 Main Bistro brunch (with perfect cocktails!); Rose and Kettle dinner (delicious food, fantastic service, and lovely ambiance); and Brimstone Bakery lunch (delicious food, exceptional hospitality and bakery-treats to-go). Another shout-out to a local entity—(while walking to Brimstone Bakery) we were treated to a surprise tour of Adelphi Paper Hangings, wood block wallpaper print-shop—amazing artistry!

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Maria’s charming residence for an extended period of nearly two months, and it was nothing short of exceptional. The space itself exudes coziness, is meticulously clean, and surprisingly spacious, catering comfortably to both short-term and long-term stays. Nestled in the picturesque landscape of upstate New York, the location of Maria’s place is a true gem. A mere two-minute drive unfolds breathtaking scenic views, capturing the essence of the area’s natural beauty. Maria and Mike have been phenomenal hosts. Their warmth and hospitality made our stay enjoyable and stress-free. They went above and beyond to assist us, from collecting our packages to promptly addressing and resolving any issues we encountered. We wholeheartedly recommend Maria’s cozy retreat to future guests. Whether you’re planning a brief visit or a prolonged getaway, this place is a perfect choice, guaranteeing a comfortable, clean, and delightful experience.

Another lovely stay at Mike and Maria’s cottage! We came for our annual mother daughter trip to the Glimmerglass Opera festival and stayed here for the second time. The apartment is large, well-stocked, clean, and the bedding is so comfortable. We love being right in the village of Sharon Springs where you can get great coffee at the Black Cat Cafe and a lovely dinner at 204 Main next door. We picked lavender at Mike and Maria’s farm and watched the sunset. If you can come during lavender season (June/July) it’s not to be missed!

Maria was the most perfect host! Great communication and a lovely place right in the center of town. Would definitely recommend this for anyone visiting Sharon Springs.
