Amazing view that can't be beat! It was so easy to walk right onto the beach. There is no public path to the beach in the neighborhood, so expect everyone staying nearby to walk under the house to get to the beach. A previous review complained of the house smelling like smoke, but they must have cleaned it very well, because none of us could smell anything, and we are highly sensitive to that kind of thing. The house was very clean. Kitchen had everything we needed and more. Beds were comfy.

Overall, most of our family had an enjoyable time at this rental. The location was fantastic, the beach access was incredibly convenient, and the location was the perfect size for our family (8 adults and 6 kids). The staff at Swedes Real Estate were very kind, professional, and easily accessible when we did have issues. That being said, we did experience a few issues in our stay. 1. The initial check-in process requires you to drive to another location to pick up a key. While not a huge inconvenience, the process can be much more simple. 2. The house smelled like smoke on the inside. Multiple guests commented on the smell and our clothes absorbed the smell over the course of the trip/ 3. The carpeted areas (staircase and upstairs bedroom) had "sticker burrs" or "grass burrs" scattered throughout prior to our arrival. Many of the guests stepped on these in accessing the bedroom. 4. General house maintenance (fixing the flooring in an upper deck) was scheduled during our stay. I had to turn the maintenance crew away because we were using the room in question for napping kids. 5. The clothes dryer was broken upon arrival. While this issue was unforeseen or unchecked prior to check-in by the management company, it took requesting some form of refund to finally get a repair person out to get the issue fixed. 6. Beyond the control of the management company, we did have some obnoxious beach goers late at night that were playing loud (inappropriate) music and revving their engines. That is just a part of the Crystal Beach experience. Overall, I am split. The location and beach access (for Galveston area) was unbeatable. If you enjoy sitting on the back porch and hangin out at the beach, this house is for you. The indoor experience and the maintenance issues would make me think twice about booking this again without first considering my other options. Hope this is helpful!

Beautiful oceanfront stay! House was equipped with all cooking utensils, pots, pans etc. even had a blender! 3 br on 1st floor with king beds and a br with bunk beds, 7 total bunks. one master suite upstairs private balcony was awesome for the views. kiddos had plenty of play room in their room. front main balcony had plenty of chairs for enjoying the surf. large fridge/freezer easily accommodated all our food for a 4 day stay. overall really great time and hope to catch it again sometime.
