Skidded View Camping Pod Comes with a king size bed that can also be used as two singles. It also has a sink with running hot and cold water and numerous electrical points. Heaters provided. Kettle, toaster, microwave and small fridge freezer also provided for your convenience. Toilet and shower block located only ten metres away from the pods. Parking outside each pod. Fire pits included. Well behaved dogs welcome but not to be left in the pod unsupervised. The pods are located within in their own fully enclosed garden, overlooking rolling farmland and Lakeland fells. They are situated to the back of our farm and are only overlooked by our farmhouse some 300 metres away. The pods are cosy and warm even in the coldest nights of winter. We are a friendly farming family that pride ourselves on looking after our guests. We are always contactable either in person or by telephone to help with any questions you might have. As you make you way down to the pods you will see many of our own pets. From the cats sunning themselves on the yard to the pet pigs that will run and greet you to our own horses that flank either side of the drive down to the pods.
We absolutely loved our stay at Camping in Cardewlees. The pod was really clean and cosy. We had everything we needed and the enclosed garden area was absolutely fantastic for our dog so he could run around and enjoy the freedom! The surroundings were beautiful and it was very peaceful. Our host was great at communicating and all instructions were clear and easy to follow. We will definitely come back again in the future. Can’t recommend this place highly enough!
Had a nice day in the sun while the dogs ran around but also other dogs kept annoying are dogs so a lot of barking as very close to next door camp site and other pod! Thought they would be spread out a little more as not much privacy
I had a fantastic, relaxing stay at Camping at Cardewlees. The enclosed garden was great for my dog, who absolutely loved being able to run around.
Had a lovely couple of days with my partner and little boy. The enclosed gardens were perfect for our toddler. Really enjoyed seeing all of the friendly farm animals too. We will absolutely be staying again! Cleanest shower and toilets I’ve ever seen on a campsite.
The village of Dalston is only a mile away which has everything you need. Pubs, gift shops, local produce and scenic walks are just some of its attractions. One of our favourite things to do is follow the Cumbrian Way along the River Caldew.
There is a track from the campsite that leads straight into the village. You can find details about this via your customer login.
If you’re keen on history, you could be learning about Carlisle’s in a jiffy – it’s a 15-minute drive from Camping at Cardewlees. The Great Border City also has a castle where Mary Queen of Scots spent a stint behind bars and a cathedral that was founded in 1133. For a flutter on the horses, a racecourse serves the local area too.
To go further back in time – think close to 2,000 years – Hadrian’s Wall, the most visited Roman ruin in the whole of Britain, is a 40-minute drive from the site. The Walltown Crags section’s a stellar place to start your journey to a couple of millennia ago: this stretch of the original wall has eye-popping views over the patchwork of fields below.
The Dalston train station is only a fifteen-minute walk from site.
With numerous bus routes going from West to Carlisle along the A595.
You could even catch a taxi from Carlisle City Centre for £10.

We are a friendly, laid back farming family. We opened a small campsite in Easter 2019 and offerfully serviced caravan bays, EHU pitches and more 3 camping pods. New for 2024 is the introduction of a fully furnished teepee with a wood fired hot tub. We live here with our four children and my mother and father in law live down the lonning. We love meeting new people and hearing all about their adventures.
