This is a beautiful home in a very remote and secluded area. If you are looking for solitude, and you do not need a lot of internet access for remote work or other needs, this is your place. One thing that would have been nice for our stay is a binder with recommendations of local restaurants and activities. Our favorite place for lobster and seafood in Seal Cove is Hodgdon's Seafood, Five Stars to you!!! Definitely go here, they are wonderful. Also don't miss out on a stop at the Seal Cove Auto Museum. It is an absolute treasure and we all loved it. If the 10-digit entry code for the main door does not work for you, call Vacasa and they will help you.
Beautiful home! We enjoyed our stay at the Airbnb. The house is very clean and has all the amenities you would need for a nice stay. The kitchen is well equipped with utensils / pans and pots. The view from the house is of the lake. Very quiet and peaceful.
Amazing place! This was our first trip to Maine and this place was great. Huge house, private area so it’s nice and quiet. Waters edge right outside of your windows so you can hear the water. House was secluded so lots of privacy but was a quick drive over to Bar Harbor for delicious food and local attractions.
We were locked out on our day 2 of stay after returning from an entire day at Acadia. We kept asking for help from 7:00 PM till 9:00 PM but no help was sent to fix the lock or provide alternate access to the house. They kept making false promises that they are working on resolving through their local contact. We had to resort to 911 and a visit from the firefighters at 10:00 PM where they had to climb up the back porch pole and break into the house from the upstairs balcony door. If the emergency services had not helped, we would have had no safe & warm place to spend the night at. The property is extremely secluded and in the woods and fear of wildlife exists. Along with that, it was very chilly, drizzling and 39F on that night. I would never recommend this host for anyone because they did not consider our safety as a priority. The local contact showed up only at 2:00 PM the next day, with no calls or updates.
