The minute we drove up to the house we knew our stay was going to be awesome, and it truly was! The location was perfect, the comfort of the home was perfect, and the kitchen was perfectly stocked with anything you could need. We would definitely go back and stay there again. Doug is an amazing host! Due to unforeseen circumstances we had to leave. Doug offered several acceptable solutions to us and it was greatly appreciated. Doug was so helpful in letting us know conditions and hints to get in the park. He’s was always very quick to respond. The river in front of his home is so beautiful and peaceful to listen to. The only thing of note is the road leading back to the house, a little narrow and bumpy, but follow doug’s instructions and you’ll be fine. You couldn’t ask for a better host and will not be disappointed in Tranquility House.

Tranquility House indeed earns its name. As soon as you get off the main road to the dirt road leading up to the house between the trees, you transition to another world. Superb location nestled in the woods embraced by the wide spreading branches of a very old oak tree, the subtle yet imposing running sound of the creek is so relaxing that whatever you’re doing you’ll just find yourself unconsciously stopping to observe in wonder and amazement. We were even visited by a little squirrel during our stay here. My husband our dog and I spent 4 nights and were extremely impressed by this beautiful gem of a house that is also super well stocked and prepared to accommodate all your vacation needs. Doug the owner who is highly welcoming and communicative really thought of all the details and provided us with a list of valuable information and resources that made our visit to Yosemite park and the nearby town of Oakhurst an astounding success. Definitely hope to stay here again in the future.

This place is truly amazing. Truly a "Tranquil" house. You can literally hear Lewis Creek running all night long. The place is very clean. The kitchen has plenty of quality cookware. Very comfortable space. Easy to feel right at home! Added bonus that it is dog friendly! There were 4 of us but it could comfortably fit 6 with space left over. Doug has an incredible space and is an outstanding host. We will definately be coming back.
