Charming house, excellent location in the heart of Wiscasset. Wonderful cookware in kitchen, nice modern bathroom, great washer and dryer. Fascinating artwork everywhere in the house. Hosts are very responsive and provide ample linens and supplies. You will enjoy the lobster sheets and appreciate the plentiful fans provided for cooling in the summer heat. Lovely!

Beautiful place in the heart of the Maine Coast. Was the perfect spot for us to work and on the days we weren't working, explore the beauty of Maine. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some! Loved the space - especially the sunroom.

We enjoyed our stay at the Oar House. Helen had excellent communication from the moment we made our reservation until we checked out. Helen goes the extra mile in trying to ensure that her guests have a pleasant stay. She has a notebook full of information about the attractions and restaurants in the area. And the Oar House kitchen is very well equipped with pots, pans, and just about any kitchen gadget or utensil you can think of. We stayed during an unusually hot week and there numerous fans throughout the house to keep us as comfortable as possible.

The Oar House was exactly what my sister and I were looking for on our Maine vacation. Centrally located for travel up and down the coast. The house is comfortable and outfitted with everything you could need. As the description says, there is no air conditioning, but if you shut windows and close curtains, the house stays totally comfortable. We used the fans for any cooling we needed in the afternoons and evenings and had no trouble. There are plenty of them throughout the house. Helen has thought of everything and responds very quickly to any questions you may have. Highly recommend reading the information on the house, area and especially the recommendations on places to eat. We ate at many of the places that were listed and had awesome food and service everywhere we went. #1 must would be to have breakfast at Ships Chow Hall. Great food and 2 of the best people run the place. Friendly, cheerful and they make the best breakfasts!! I would definitely return to Oar House to continue exploring the state of Maine as I could not have asked for more in a place to stay!
