One of the original 1920's Davis Island camps, Westview Cottage is a small waterfront accommodation offering 365 sq. ft. of recently redecorated space. This cottage offers an upgraded tiled shower, full (double) bed, cozy outside seating with gardens, amazing westerly sunsets and views of Wiscasset village. Westview is the perfect spot for a weekend getaway or weeklong stay in Mid-coast Maine, the central location off Route 1 providing a year-round location for easy access to area attractions. Amenities include: • One double bed • One twin sofabed • Cookware, utensils and a 2-burner integrated cooktop • Microwave, toaster oven and small refrigerator • Outdoor electric grill • Expandable dining table • Desk with seaside views • Cable TV • Wifi • Books and games • High-end combination washer/dryer • Outside seating area • Adjacent parking space for one car • Weekly housecleaning available for multi-week guests

I had a wonderful stay at Sara’s cottage on Davis Island! The water is literally right outside your front door, the morning views of the river are gorgeous on a clear day. The interior of the cottage is in perfect condition and everything has been thought of for you so don’t have to. I especially appreciate the subtle labeling of light switches, etc. Sara was very proactive and thorough in her communications and instructions, and overall a great host! I would highly recommend Sara’s cottage to others and hope to stay again myself as I frequent the area.

This was the sweetest most beautiful little cottage for a couple. It was so close to the water when you looked out the window it looked like you were floating. Just a short walk over the bridge into Wiscasset for coffee or dinner. Quick driving distance to Damariscotta and Boothbay Harbor. Perfect spot for a perfect weekend.

Sara's cottage is a great find if you are traveling through Maine. She was very responsive and check in was easy. The cottage was clean and very well stocked with all essentials. I enjoyed the sunset view over the water, and the area was nice and peaceful. If you enjoy historical buildings, a short drive down the road is Fort Edgecomb. The location is also a short drive to Boothbay, and I recommend trying The Boothbay Lobster Wharf if you are looking for an authentic Maine lobster experience. The cottage is also close to Maine Coastal Botanical Gardens which I recommend if you enjoy gardens and art and to see Thomas Dambo's art exhibit. Remember that some restaurants and places are seasonal, so check before you go. Overall, the cottage was wonderful! The only thing I have noticed with a lot of Air BNB rentals is that they charge a cleaning fee, however they then have cleaning requirements for check out which I wouldn't mind doing without the fee.

This area of Mid-coast Maine provides ready access to seaside activities, cultural sites, dining and shopping. The iconic Red's Eats Lobster Shack is located just across the bridge from the cottage, and the village of Wiscasset offers a variety a dining establishments within a mile's walk or drive. Just a short walk down the road, Fort Edgecomb, a waterfront historic site, may be easily explored on foot. Farther afield, lighthouses, a maritime museum, art museums and other cultural sites are available for exploration. Visitors may also enjoy the many outdoor activities of the area, including beaches, whale watches, oyster cruises, hiking and kayaking. Shopping enthusiasts will find locally made pottery, gift shops and antique stores in nearby Damariscotta, while the flagship L.L. Bean store provides the centerpiece of a day-long shopping excursion to the Freeport Outlet Center.

There is a parking spot directly adjacent to the Westview cottage. The entire space is reserved for Westview guests and is not shared with nearby cottages. The parking is suitable for one car or a small truck. Larger vehicles or campers cannot be accommodated.
