Eileen’s place has the potential of a 5-star property, but the nickel-and-diming was very annoying. We asked to bring a small dog and had to pay $100 fee in cash—way too steep for 2 days, but we didn’t make a fuss. Although we planned to have a bbq, Eileen asked us not to use the fire pit because it was “too windy.” The engineers in our group saw no risk given the distance between the fire pit and the house, but once again, out of respect, we did not make a fuss. After agreeing to all of Eileen’s requests and taking excellent care of her property, we had one small request: a late checkout of 2 hours. We were very turned off and surprised that Eileen made us pay $25/hour to compensate her housekeeper who was “on the clock.” Seriously? Interesting that the cleaning fee is $185 at a supposed rate of $25/hour (suggesting 7 hours are spent cleaning the house). With hair on the beds and the amount of cleaning we had to do, clearly just another attempt to squeeze every last $ from guests.

We love staying here. The house is amazing with tremendous views. We love the walking trails as well. Eileen is a great host- could not ask for better.

We really enjoyed our stay! The house has a great location for us to explore the surrounding attractions. 15-minute drive to the Luray Caverns and a 20-minute drive to Shenandoah National Park. The kitchen is stuffed with cookware and easy to use. The view is amazing and you can get great pictures of the stars if there are no clouds. The House owner is really friendly and always responsive to the question! It's a 10/10 experience!

Really enjoyed our stay at Eileen's place. We were a party of 8 and it had plenty of room for everyone. Location is very accessible to Luray town and just 15 mins from Thornton Gap entrance of Shenandoah national park's Skyline drive. Added bonus was the private hike behind the property. Eileen was very proactive with her communicating and was there whenever we needed her. Will definitely come back to this place when we visit Shenandoah next time!
