It was exactly what we were looking for! We wanted to find a warm place and with a view of the sea. A place that was quite, clean and would provide us some alone time without a lot of interruptions. We stayed in Nautical Inn's Eagles Nest unit which had a wrap-around deck and floor to ceiling windows on three sides that provided fantastic views. The inside of the unit was very spacious and open, so we never felt like we needed to leave the unit to find some space. A Publix three blocks away provided basic groceries and our kitchen let us make everything from perfect toast to roasted chicken and vegetables. Thus we enjoyed most of our meals in what felt like a second home. An afternoon spent in Palencia provided another view of island life. Gail and Ryan shared good information on how to best get around, some of the many tours that were available, and helped with additional questions while we where there. Our main goal of quiet alone time together was perfectly met - thank you

I LOVE Placencia!!! This was my 3rd trip to Belize (2nd to Placencia) and I can't decide if I love the people or the country more. Everyone we encountered was so nice!!! The only place that we ran into rude Belizeans was at the airport in Belize City when we were heading home. Maybe they were as sad as we were that we were heading home :). Gail and Roger and their entire staff made us feel comfortable and welcome immediately!!! The nice thing about the Nautical Inn is that they have all types of accommodations at the same location. Everything from a bunkroom (reminded me of a hostel) to single hotel rooms to studio apartments to 2 bedroom villas. There may have been a 1 bedroom villa too and I just didn't see it. The first time we went to Placencia, we didn't know about the Nautical Inn and stayed at a different set of villas. We had way too many bedrooms for our needs but we all wanted to be in the same location. The Nautical Inn would have solved that issue for us.

Our family of 5 spent a week at this location and it did NOT disappoint! The family highlights were the pool and watching the sunrise over the water from the pier. The location is perfect for renting a golf-cart and cruising or going to Mayan World and 4wheeling to the waterfalls. Peter and the rest of the Nautical Inn staff were amazing 👏🏼 We will absolutely be back!

This is the place to rent if you want to wake up to phenomenal sunrises that you can watch in a comfortable adirondack chair with a cup of coffee on your near-360-degree covered deck. Everything was great, but that covered deck -- equally spectacular to sit on with a rum drink as the sun is setting -- was probably our favorite! With the constant ocean breezes, it was always comfortable there. Besides the amazing deck, the pool is a wonderful place for a dip and to sit beside with a book overlooking the crashing waves. And the folks who help Gail run the small resort are terrific. Peter can hook you up with local guides to take you snorkeling and fishing (we caught grouper, mackerel, and dove for conch); Carol can cook up whatever you catch and it is delicious; Cyril greets you every morning with a welcoming smile, ensures your security, and keeps the grounds tidy; and the two Annas make sure you are comfortable and have everything you need. And friendly Mango -- the resident German shepherd -- is ready for a pet and wagging tail whenever you pass by. A big plus for us was being in a small village. This isn't the Ritz. You can walk across the road at 1:30 in the afternoon and buy creole buns from the lady who sells them from a bin, still warm and delicious. You can walk to the grocery store passing children in uniforms on their way to school, others on their bikes going up or down the peninsula, and still more on the porches of their raised wooden homes, all who will smile and say hello. We'd love to come back again.
