We LOVE coming to Michael’s piece of heaven!! This was our second time, and we actually made arrangements and stayed 4 nights instead of 3 because we hated to leave!! Our first time we were at the cabin, it was summer. So this time in spring, the weather was cool, so we sat around the fire pit every night. Michael had plenty of firewood for us to use. The cabin was spotless and I always make sure we leave it that way. He had space heaters that made the cabin cosy when needed. It’s a piece of paradise! It’s not fancy, but just perfect. It has everything you would need except your personal things and groceries!! We made a quick stop for groceries and headed to the cabin!! There are toys, games, video games, books, DVD player, movies, and lots of other goodies to keep all ages entertained. Also, we hiked all around and walked along the bank of the beautiful Illinois River. We plan on coming back for our 3rd visit real soon. Thanks again Michael, Rebecca Hodson Joplin, MO

Michael’s place is quite a gem! The riverfront view and access was amazing. We enjoyed the fireplace and fire pit outside. The kids loved the loft and kept plenty entertained with all of the toys, games, and outdoor adventures. The amenities were superb and well thought out. This cabin has some features that many don’t such as a dishwasher and washer and dryer. We’d visit again in a heartbeat!

R & R cabin is a slice of heaven on earth. The cabin was clean, homey and well stocked. The bed was super comfy. The cabin is completely secluded. Just you and nature, which is exactly what we were looking for. We enjoyed exploring the trails. We saw the bald eagle several times. Within the first 24 hours of being at the cabin, we saw 5 deer. The deer were just feet away from the fire pit, which is where we spent endless hours. Even though it was around 98-103 degrees outside, it didn’t feel that hot in the shade covered yard with a nice breeze blowing. There’s a beautiful tree canopy covered trail that leads right to the river. We swam and caught catfish, small mouth and sand bass. Michael is a great host, with the quickest response time to answering messages. We had a blast and spent our drive home trying to figure out when we could return and bring our kids and grandkids. We so appreciate Michael for sharing his beautiful home with us! I can’t wait to go back!
