Located in a quiet residential St minutes from Funchal, carefully restored with open plan layout all on one level next to a beautiful court yard. Features high ceilings, wooden floors, original stone walls, decorated to a high standard with modern facilities & has a very cosy romantic feel. Private outdoor terrace 360º amazing Ocean views & gets the sun all day. Shared Pool, Free private parking, Air Con/Heat, cable TV, free Wi-fi & lots of Island Info, suitable for adults only. The Cottage is a perfect retreat for couples, spacious with comfortable furniture throughout, a well equipped kitchen & lots of out door areas to relax, steps at one end lead up to the private terrace with stunning views of Funchal, Ocean & Mountains! Situated around a lovely court yard opposite the main house with the pool nesstled into the volcanic rocks below, this is a shared pool, it works very well as we have up to 4 couples at anyone time but each property has enough space & privacy so you do not tend to see other guests.

AWESOME STAY!!!
We loved our time at Louises place. The apartment is ideally located to walk into town ( the hill home gets easier each day !) and to easily explore the rest of the island if you rent a car. Very clean and spacious. The terrace is a lovely spot of a morning coffee with great views over Funchal. We also loved the pool for an afternoon plunge! We will definitely be back. Highly recommend!!!
We had a great stay at the cottage. The cottage was very clean and cosy. Louise was super helpful throughout our stay and very accommodating. She provided us with great tips and local recommendations for restaurants/places to go. Would highly recommend. The walk from the cottage to the main town is about 15/20mins, but be aware the cottage is on a hill so is quite a steep walk down and up, but we really enjoyed the walk.

Louise's place does what it says on the tin. She describes exactly what to expect and it is accurate. It was our first time in Madeira and we were a bit unlucky with the weather but we had a lovely little veranda where it was cosy to sit and read when it was raining. Our little terrace was great and got sun even when the other apartments did not - and we had a great view of the harbour for watching the cruise ships. Louise makes it very clear that there is a steep hill down into Funchal and we were aware of that but it did make us reluctant to go back down into Funchal in the evenings which was a bit of a pity. When we sussed out Bus No 33 that did make it a bit better (tickets available beside the Supermarket at the foot of the hill - very handy) We did have a burger is a lovely little burger joint just below the steps from the front of the property so we didn't starve. We made full use of the outside areas which are lovely.

Our neighbourhood is called "Santa Luzia" it´s a nice, quiet & safe residential area with good access to Funchal and the wider area.
It takes about 15 minutes to walk down hill into Funchal & the Old Town, we are directly up from the centre and have good public transport links & Taxis are easily available, approx cost from Funchal to The Cottage by Taxi €6.00. The main roads to explore the rest of the Island are just a couple of minutes away by car. Free private parking is next the cottage, details how to enter this area are emailed to the guest.
