Hidden away in a nature reserve only a short drive from San Juan del Sur, an hour from the Ometepe ferry, my house is ideal for relaxing and getting to know southwestern Nicaragua. At casa Linda, you will be surrounded by beautiful forests and mountains while you relax, read, eat, swim, surf, snorkel, hike, cook and play games in our little beach ecosystem. My house is located between Playa Majagual . with great surfing, fishing, snorkeling, and a one minute walk to the secluded Playa Majagual. Bathrooms: we have one full indoor bathroom and one outside shower for when you come back from the beach or when you just want to shower off outside. You’ll find fresh produce, and a small convenience store with a great variety of imported goods and a selection of meats. If you’re looking for fish, the local fisherman’s co-op in San Juan is a short walk down the waterfront in a small wooden building where a wide variety of fish come in every afternoon. ... --------------------------- Food & other supplies --------------------------- Once you arrive at my house, there is a small shop nearby that stocks some basic supplies. Every other day a produce truck comes by the house with fresh fruits and vegetables. ... -------------- Dining Out: -------------- 100 yards away is Juanita's, a small humble restaurnte with great food. 10-min walk down the beach will lead you a variety of small bars and beach-restaurants. They serve everything local and Latin-American food to international classics. ... ------------ Activities: ------------ There are many great places to hike, both to other beaches and in the forest for bird and animal watching. You can rent surfboards and take lessons at the end of the beach at the restaurants. There is great fishing from the point at the end of the beach, and you can also arrange fishing, diving, surfing, snorkeling, and other tours from San Juan del Sur.

Super schön gelegen. 120 Schritte bis zum traumhafen, meist einsamen Stand. Das Haus ist sauber und einfach. Lebensmittel sollten vorher in San Juan del Sur besorgt werden. Es gibt Trinkwasser vor Ort und jeden zweiten/dritten Tag kommt ein Obst- und Gemüsemobil vorbei. Ansonsten gibt es Juanitas Kitchen in der Nähe und in der nächsten Bucht, am playa Maderas (10 min zu Fuß) gibt es noch weitere Strandbars. Wir waren mit unseren Kindern 7 Nächte dort und hatten eine wunderbare Zeit. Danke!
The place was a fantastic location for a peaceful relaxing vacation. The surf beach is a 20-25 min walk south down the beach with rocks and tide depending can be difficult for some. The air bnb was equipped with the basics and had a fruit truck every 3-5 days. There are some restaurants but groceries for us were needed for a long stay. Once again the caretaker was 10/10 with all small requests and questions. We used trusted taxis by the air bnb to get us there so a rental car wasn’t needed for us but a car is needed as the road is rough as it’s Remote and quiet area. For surfing I would not recommend Nelson for surfing board rentals personally, he was recommended by the air bnb caretaker. He changed the price on me on arrival and after he got my money for 10 days of renting the mood during interactions was not enjoyable to put it simply. This place was fantastic to get away and totally relax and enjoy a great surf destination
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beach house was perfectly located for easy access to Playa Maderas and Playa Majagual. Surroundings were serene and quiet (for the most part). Our experience would have been quite different if it weren't for Herly who was gracious, professional, helpful, proactive, and courteous. He is a great asset! The only thing I would recommend is including information about the shuttle to San Juan de Sur available from Playas Maderas. It would be helpful for guests to know there is cheap and reliable transportation into town. Thank you for a memorable time in Nicaragua. We will return.
What a perfect beach house with everything you need to spend some time relaxing at the beach (very secluded and quiet) right in front, at Playa Majagual just a few steps away, or to surf the great waves of Playa Maderas. The house has a well equipped kitchen and we enjoyed cooking our lunches and then spending dinners at the excellent restaurant next door (Juanita’s). Herly is lovely and a very responsive host. Would stay again anytime!

At Casa Linda, you will share a neighborhood with both Nicaraguans and a couple foreigners. The house is nestled into a lush, forest covered neighborhood just next door to a nature reserve.
From here, you'll be literally seconds from various beaches:
Playa Majagual (Playa San Lorenzo on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN)maps) is great for relaxed swimming and tranquility.
Playa Maderas has a bit of everything: a bit calm on one end and a bit more energetic on the other (the farther end from the house) for those who like to surf and be around some crowds.
PRIVATE TRANSPORT - if your vacation is not that long, we suggest this option to take full advantage of your limited time.

- You can reserve a vehicle online with one of many rental companies. Prices range from $40-80/day for a pickup truck

-From the airport, you take a taxi to the “Huembes” (pronounced “Wembes”) Market. From there, there are 2 direct buses to San Juan del Sur every day (around $3). From San Juan del Sur, you can get a taxi for $25 to our house. FYI, we strongly suggest that you let us organize the transport from the airport to the bus station at Huembes Market so you get on the right bus at the right price (this means $5 taxi).
