Burnside Cottage is delightful, quiet, clean and has everything you would need. Harriet even popped over to make sure everything was ok. I absolutely loved my stay and I can’t recommend it highly enough!
We enjoyed a brilliant stay here. The cottage was cosy, comfortable and had all of the amenities we needed for a peaceful getaway. Very easy check in procedure thanks to clear and friendly instructions from the host and convenient parking space right outside too. The location was great, with many scenic hikes to explore in close proximity. Would throughly recommend a stay here!
What a lovely place to stay! The location was superb, just what we wanted. Walks from the door and close to Glencoe, Nevis Range etc. The cottage itself was simple and cosy, everything we needed and really homely. Ali and Harriet were on hand with great recommendations. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend and would definitely stay again if we come this way in the future.
We had the pleasure of staying at Burnside cottage for a week while winter climbing. What a gem of a place. We loved this little hide away, perfect location for us and hosts are super responsive and helpful. Absolutely loved staying here … we will be back David & Laura
The West Highlands of Scotland is famous for majestic landscapes, beautiful lochs and mountains, magic tiny roads to explore remote beaches and islands. It inspires many films and artists - it is the setting for the famous Harry Potter Viaduct on the way to Hogwarts and for James Bond's ancestral home in Skyfall.
The mountains of Glencoe and Lochaber offer fantastic mountaineering, long distance walks, abundant wildlife and spectacular views. Travel by foot, bike or canoe - or take a landrover safari or mountain chairlift to get really up close to the wilderness.
Or explore the Highlands and Islands - take a day trip to the Island of Mull and the famous Iona Abbey. Drive out to Ardnamurchan and watch the waves crash on the Lighthouse rocks at the most westerly point in Britain. Look out for sea eagles and otters. Catch your nearest ferry at the Corran Narrows and explore Moidart. Or go up the Caledonian Canal and to famous Loch Ness to look for the monster.
At the end of your day call in to one of the wonderful pubs or restaurants serving the best local produce and seafood - many with live Scottish music.
Burnside Cottage is easy to access. Easiest by car - two hours from Glasgow Airport, about three hours from Edinburgh. You can park directly opposite the cottage.
Or take your bike on the train to Oban and then take the off road cycle route direct to the back door of the cabins. Public transport is fairly regular - buses from Glasgow several times per day will drop you off on Ballachulish Bridge - about 15 minutes walk from the cottage.
