Our stay at Gardeners Cottage was a perfect Christmas getaway, our host also dressed the house for Christmas and included a complimentary basket of logs, tasty chocolate brownies and a bottle of wine, thank you. Gardeners Cottage was warm, the rooms, well proportioned and kitchen well equipped, perfect for our Christmas lunch.The Monzie estate is an idyllic location and offers some lovely scenery, due to the weather we didn’t venture too far although it didn’t matter as there are plenty of walks on the estate and within a reasonable drive. Crieff is a well served town, we’d highly recommend the Crieff Food Company, their breakfast pack and beef pie are superb, as was their Christmas turkey, Fish in Crieff, the local fishmonger, for their lobster, dressed crab and crevettes which made for a delicious food platter on Christmas Eve, Ellie’s Cellar for wine, and RTS Firewood and Waitrose who managed to find us and delivered our logs and food essentials, The Gurkhas for a tasty takeaway.

Alexandra is by far one of the best hosts I have ever encountered and dealt with. My daughter and I wanted to visit her exquisite cottage at the end of November when it gets cold and dark. We made a mistake of driving to the location when it was very dark rainy and windy. Being very tired and stressed of driving on the other side of the road😊 we missed the last part of her clear direction and couldn’t find the cottage, and instead found ourselves in the middle of a field. I called her panicking and somewhat rude but she was very kind and immediately offered to come and rescue us. She has done a great job with the cottage and with any little issue she is available. My daughter and I really enjoyed meeting her in person and right away felt like we have known her for a long time. Please try not to get there when it’s dark. During the day the whole area is breathtakingly beautiful peaceful and safe. You need to familiarize yourself with The surroundings during the daylight.

The Gardener's Cottage was exactly what we were looking for. The cottage itself was very comfortable and we were able to make ourselves at home for the week that we were there. The surroundings were absolutely beautiful and being able to walk the property was a added bonus. Alexandra was a great host and was very responsive answering any questions we had and giving us fabulous recommendations for places to go and things to see. We would definitely stay at the Gardener's Cottage again if/when we are back in Scotland!

Stayed in the gardeners cottage for a week vacation and it was extremely peaceful and relaxing. Words can’t capture the beauty of the estate and house. Alexandra was a wonderful host. We will definitely be back.
