Located on the Great Alpine Rd, 9km from Myrtleford and 22km from Bright, this 2 bedroom house makes and ideal base to explore much of north east Victoria. We are centrally located to the popular tourist regions of Bright, Beechworth and the King Valley so you'll get to choose where you want to spent each day. Bush views and kangaroos are all at your back door. Enjoy the rural life! Relax in your rural surrounds or get out and enjoy our region. Inside there are beds for 4 people, with the option of either 2 single beds or a king bed in the 2nd bedroom. For additional guests there is a double sofa bed in the lounge room and the bedrooms are just large enough for a cot or mattress on the floor if required. Just let us know what you need so we can set things up accordingly. The cottage has bush views from the rear and views of Mt Buffalo from the deck. The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail can be accessed a few hundred metres down the road in either direction.

The place was easy to find. It was clean and warm. Good location for going to places in the Alpine valley. Would recommend to others.
Cottage was easy to find and enter. It is well furnished, very comfortable and stocked with all necessities. We were greeted by Joe upon arrival, who was pleasant and helpful. This cottage is situated in a picturesque location with lovely views. Its conveniently located between Myrtleford and Bright, within easy reach of both. Altogether it's a great accommodation and I would recommend it to others.
Comfortable, clean house. Very well equipped and tastefully decorated. Breakfast provisions provided including delicious freshly baked bread. Beautiful quiet surroundings close to many attractions. Jo and Joe were quick to communicate, friendly and helpful. The property exceeded our expectations . Highly recommend for your holiday in the Ovens Valley.
Great little cottage for a family getaway near Bright. Everything was as expected and they helped us out promptly when we ran into problems with the internet.
Joe & Jo's place was wonderful, with lots of special touches like fresh eggs and delicious homemade bread. It was very quiet and private and convenient to Bright, Myrtleford, Mt Beauty, and Mt Buffalo. The cottage was incredibly clean and comfortable. I would highly recommend a stay at this place.

Ovens may be a small hamlet, but there is plenty around if you know where to look. The local pub (4km) is family friendly and serves hearty pub meals. For a pleasant surprise stop in at the pumpkin seed factory.
Heading towards Bright you can find a yummy treat at the berry farm (8km) or feed the all of the cute animals at the deer and emu farm. Amazing views from the deck there too - a perfect spot to enjoy a drink or meal!
Being a rural area, public transport is limited so a car is recommended.
For the fit and energetic you could just bring your bicycle and you will find plenty of interesting places to ride in this cycling mecca. The Murray to Mountains Rail Trail means that you don't even have to ride on the road in most cases.

We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of Australia and even after travelling to some amazing places in Australia and around the world, we can still appreciate how good we have it here. We both enjoy cycling, snowboarding and just generally getting outside to enjoy what's on offer around us. This helps offset all of the delicious food and wine we like to take advantage of on our doorstep! We pride ourselves on providing clean, comfortable accommodation with all of the necessities of home, so all that is left to do is relax and enjoy the surrounds. Basically it's exactly the kind of place we would like to stay in when we go away!
