I did book a stay from Nov 17 to Dec 21, I left on Nov 20. Sadly my experience was similar to the experiences of Paul, September 2021, (different room, Restful, Cozy, Clean So. West Omaha) Devrim (Dervy), Corvallis, OR, September 2020 and Cheye, Hartley, IA January 2019 I did originally request to rent another room, listed as “Restful, Cozy, Clean So. West Omaha”, she didn't accept my request, saying in her message on the 11/06/21 at 07:16PM, that she just rented this room, but also mentioned having another room available, namely the “Sparkling Clean, Cozy, Quiet So. West Omaha” And asked me for my schedule, which I detailed in my answer, mentioning that I was going to cook 2 – 3 meals a day. Being new to AirBnB I couldn't find the place, as the navigation wasn't intuitive for me and I was just looking at the map. She later declined my stay. On the 7th November she told me her room was still available and asked me if I found a nice place to stay. I did tell her on the 8th November, that I was going to stay at a different place. In her message at 0645PM on the 8th November, she told me, that I did show through my messages, that I was a “respectful young man” and that I had “some very nice manners” and asked me whether I wanted to meet here some time over a morning coffee. I was planning on staying at a different place, but the host was blocked from accessing her/his account before my arrival for reasons unknown to me. I then contacted Mrs. Schar on the 14th November over the room I was staying in. She asked me to contact her via phone the next days, early morning, which I did at 11am. As this might seem a little weird from the start, just bear in mind, that I'm by nature a rather agreeable person and she is an elderly lady, which had me thinking, that she might have a few particularities, but was overall going to be a nice person. Her behavior was very clearly trying to get the message across to me, that I am not welcome. The room was differently arranged than on the picture and she did keep a bunch of potted plants in it. The space in the fridge was rather limited, and there was no space in the freezer. I did have to keep some of my groceries in the garage. The house rules were as previously described by another tenant were quite a lot and albeit reasonable, you were constantly reminded of them, even if you did follow them meticulously. At points her request were contradicted by her own behavior or unreasonable though, she wanted my relatives contact information in case something happened to me for example. She did tell me not to dry my dishes, but to put them into the dishwasher for drying, or that I shouldn't make my bed after getting up, but after going through my morning shower etc. When she returned from a trip and asked me what I did, to which I replied that I baked some cornbread, she told me that I shouldn't use the oven without telling her, elaborating, that I might break something, that wasn't in the oven while I used it, but normally would be in it. And told me to use a small desk-oven instead. When I told her, I wasn't going to do that (small oven is to small for cornbread), she started cutting me off and getting quite aggressive, ultimately ending with telling me, that: “She had a guest evicted for stealing from her before. And that I was going to be the only one staying here.” I booked a new stay a few hours after this incident and left the following morning, as this kind of stuff isn't something I wanted to get involved in.

Schar’s place was super clean and very charming. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Her home overlooks a park with walking paths and was located close to everything I needed. Schar accommodated every need and couldn’t have been any sweeter. I highly recommend staying here

I really enjoyed staying at Schar's house. She kept the house nice and clean as described and provided clean linens and towels. Access to kitchen was provided along with some space in the refrigerator to store a couple of items. She does have a washer and drying machine available for guests to use also. The room is as pictured, comfortable twin sized bed, A/C, ceiling fan, and a good WiFi connection for Zoom meetings. The house it located in a safe and quiet suburb. It is literally next to a park which can be accessed from the backyard. Nice views for a relaxing break or a good walk. Aside from that a vehicle is required to get to the downtown area as it is about a 15 - 20 minute drive. Overall I enjoyed my stay. Schar was very accommodating and helpful to get settled in Omaha. She communicates her expectations of the guests and house rules very clearly, they are also reasonable. Schar respected my privacy and quiet time when I needed it and was always up for a chat when I felt like socializing a bit. Fantastic host and house. Thank you Schar!

Staying at Schar’s is like staying with your favorite auntie. She has a lovely home, beautiful yard and was comfortable with chats or my hibernating in my room after my full days. I will happily stay there again if the opportunity comes up! Thanks, Schar!
