We spent 4 nights at lovely Driftwood cottage. Really homely property in a great location near the beach. Friendly local people and great choice of restaurants. Highly recommended and would definitely stay at Driftwood again. Great hosts who were so helpful in every aspect.

Our stay at Driftwood with hosts Tony and Jan in Laborie was perfect. We were hoping for a non-touristy location where we could enjoy the community, feel safe and relax. With steps to the ocean, short walk to small restaurants and some dogs to make our stay feel like home we were very happy. We will be back for sure ASAP Mike and Sue

Tony and Jan were very sociable and informative hosts. The cottage is well-maintained and has a colorful decor. As advertised, the interior is modest in size (in particular the attached kitchen); but the living space is enhanced with a roomy veranda—which affords a glimpse of the water through the trees—and a clean and private pocket pool good for cooling off. Overall, the garden setting was quite nice. (My wife dreads mosquitoes but we didn’t find them to be much of a problem.) The beach is a short walk away and the town just a bit farther on. The town offers several simple eateries and a bakery or two. Just as notable, it serves up plenty of “local color.” For those wanting to sample village life, Laborie is an excellent choice. Plus its residents—including the occasional oddball—are generally very pleasant.

We had a fabulous time and returned from our vacation relaxed and utterly refreshed! Tony and Jan are great hosts and extraordinary human beings - they are respected and beloved across the village of Laborie. We loved spending our mornings drinking coffee and reading on the front porch and then our afternoons relaxing in the side garden area and enjoying the plunge pool. Hummingbirds, little lizards, chickens, and a few of their dogs popped in regularly - it was delightful! We highly recommend getting a massage while visiting. This is something that Tony and Jan can arrange. Small grocery stores and yummy dining options are within walking distance. The cottage is fun and comfortable. The beach is beautiful. The people of Laborie are so very kind. We can't wait to return!

I had such a wonderful week at Tony's Driftwood Cottage. I was on a solo kite surfing trip, and it was first time staying in Laborie. I loved watching the hummingbirds and geckos from the porch over morning coffee, and listening to the waves from just down the dirt road in the morning. The cool plunge pool woke me up in the morning and relaxed me in the evenings. I enjoyed being able to walk into Laborie and enjoy local meals at both Mama Tilly's and Mamma Rose. Tony and Jan were great hosts, always nearby and at the ready with recommendations or just to deal with anything that came up. Wonderful spot! Would definitely return!
