This little cottage was such a great find! If you’re looking for a quiet spot in Wellington this is it. The beach is a very short walk away and the Seatoun shops are great. You’re also just steps from the #2 bus that easily takes you everywhere you’d want to go.

Richard's place is not the cheapest in Seatoun... but in terms of what you get for your money, it is absolutely top value. Smaller options that are just a roof over your head - even if very nice - get small quickly, and are only really for short stays. Richard's place offers plenty of space to spread out - a couple could easily spend a month here and wouldn't find themselves stepping on each others' toes. To add to this, Richard's place is in the best suburb in Wellington, with a couple of decent eateries and a convenience store not a minute's walk away. Seatoun is a quiet spot - if you want the him of the city, or just more shops, you'll have to drive or take the bus. But as a place to relax, Seatoun is as good as it gets in these parts. Go for a walk, a run, take in the coast. You can't go wrong here. Highly recommended.

Seatoun is a great little suburb. It catches the sun and has a nice little beach. It’s also close to the airport (if you’re energetic you can walk there), but being on the other side of a hill, through a tunnel, there is little airplane noise. The accommodation is a kind of granny flat at the back of the main house and therefore has very little road noise. The living area is fairly north facing and therefore gets some sun. It is however very draughty. Not a problem in summer but on cold and windy days keeping warm can be difficult. At least one of the photos is outdated showing nicer furniture than what is actually there. The WiFi will be adequate for casual browsers but is highly variable (it seems to be beamed from the main house and presumably shared). It is currently not sufficient for work needs such as videoconferencing.
