Vicky was warm and welcoming to us. The room was spotless and inviting - she even prepared an extra blanket for us in case we get cold. The house’s location is 2 minutes from the Medlands beach, which is convenient!
Vicky made me feel welcome at her place and on the island. Her space was accurately described and perfectly located to Medlands Beach. I only stayed one night, but had an incredible trip to Great Barrier for star gazing. Will definitely be back!
Vicky was a wonderful host. opened her home up to us, we had a lovely comfortable bed and adored her cat Miso. she even had fresh snapper and home grown potatoes there for our dinner would definitely return

Vicky had us feel home while our staying at the island for the first busy. This island was wonderful but it is her that made our experience wonderful. She arranged dinner on the delicious pub for us, served coffee and herbal tea, and advised local staffs. We highly recommend to stay there.

Originally from Bath, UK I have called Great Barrier Island home for almost 30 yrs. I have 2x adult children, 1x teenager and 1x baby grandson all living away from home. I work part-time running holiday accommodation and a home-based healing practice working with Nature and forest therapy and Native NZ plant remedies for emotional balance and holistic well-being. I love music and movies, and run a small community choir. I also am passionate about my beach lifestyle, the elements and nature and I love to share my special island home with friends family and visitors from around the world. I also love to travel, meet new people and eat different foods. My vice is dark chocolate ! I also love to try new things, enjoy adventures and will give most things a go. You will be well looked after here and treated as family, but your privacy will also be respected so interaction will be as much or as little as you want.
