Excellent host, very kind and helpful. This house is incredibly charming, with a magnificent private beach - really more like two private beaches, because you get the pond side (perfect for babies and kids) and the surf side. Melissa is a superb host. This is a wonderful house.

Nelson and Melissa are wonderful hosts; they left detailed instructions for everything that could have raised questions laminated and multiple copies at the house and dock. When we had minor issues (missing remote, clogged toilet), they addressed them immediately, despite the fact that it was the day before the holiday, which was amazing and greatly appreciated. The house is one-of-a-kind, and the views from the deck are breathtaking. It also provides access to the private beach as well as the beaches in Chilmark (which can be easily booked online in advance). The only thing I wish we had known ahead of time is that the house is only accessible by a narrow dirt road followed by a steep driveway; despite driving very carefully, we did scratch our car underneath a few times. However, most cars would probably not have a problem with it; ours is just unusually low to the ground.

Lovely home! The kitchen is a bit dated but we loved the layout because it gave everyone space and the view is incredible.

We loved this home in this incredible location. Honestly it can’t be beat, the view is incredible, the private beach is magical, we had the best time canoeing together in the boats provided by Nelson and Melissa and mixing up trips to Lucy Vincent beach with trips to the private beach sanctuary. Close to Menemsha for fresh seafood at Larsons, people watching at Chilmark General Store or delicious baked goods and meats at The Grey Barn. The home itself we lovingly call the treehouse, it is nestled among beautiful old trees and has beautiful paintings through which leads one to believe true creatives put this special place together. The hammock in the large beautiful yard was a favorite spot to hangout. The decor is chic, simple with a blend of old family keepsakes and midcentury modern choice pieces. The energy of the home overall was calm and peaceful, we had a lot of fun with friends and family grilling on the deck, listening to music and taking in the awe inspiring environment. Nelson and Melissa were on the ready and responded promptly to our inquiries and were incredibly kind and helpful. Melissa put together an incredibly helpful list of local favorites for us, so incredibly considerate. We highly recommend this gem of a home, it is the Vineyard at its best.
