You’ll love this if you want to get away from busy world. It’s so peaceful and simple. WiFi is very slow and 4G data from phone works on 1 bar on the chair arm that’s nearest to the tiny tv. TV works well on BBC channels. So if you just want to read a book and look out to the beautiful scenery from the comfort of your bed, this is perfect! Photos are exactly “what you see is what you’ll get”. I loved watching the different weather changes in the 4 days I was there. You have front row seats to sunset. I would recommend wearing sunglasses as it gets too bright to look at. And the house does shake abit when it’s very windy. I loved it very much and will go back, when it is not high season as the price per night is ridiculous from May and not worth it. Should stick to double digits per night.

The view from this boathouse is outstanding - absolutely beautiful. However, look very closely at the photos of the inside - they are accurate. Any visitor needs to remember this is a Boathouse, not a house or cottage, so there are quirks: 1. the steep stairs mentioned are open on one side to the water 2. the sound of slopping water below you is constant 3. you can feel the boathouse move a little with the wind and waves 4. the recommended wellies are essential as the path floods and is impossible to navigate without wellies 5. the accommodation itself is basic with old furniture and fittings 6. cooking facilities are limited and basic 7. only 1 chest of drawers and very limited hanging space (a rail not a wardrobe). On the plus side the heaters provided are efficient and all the essentials are there... and the view is phenomenal!
