A perfect weekend getaway from the city. Very quiet island that is good for adults and children. Each spot has its own little spot in the water giving you a small a bit of privacy but also giving children the ability to enjoy the island worry free.

Desa Laguna was a lovely place! I stayed in the driftwood hut, and it was clean and comfortable. The open air concept was wonderful during the day to let the breeze flow through and keep me cool. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and the food was delicious. I love how sustainable everything was! They should be an example to all of Indonesia on what is possible on keeping this beautiful country clean and beautiful. Bonus was the snorkeling (I saw some turtles among other beautiful fish and sea critters), and nighttime bioluminescence off the pier! It was also a great place to get to know people coming from all over the world, and is a relaxed and peaceful environment. Do be aware if you come here that there is no AC or hot water, though this did not prove to be a concern for me. Also, you will have sand everywhere, which is unavoidable staying in an open air beach hut or tent. I did not see any mosquitos or other bugs!
