We had a great stay in Natalie's lovely place. It is clean, warm and lovely two bedroom Villa conversion. The beds were super comfortable, the kitchen well equipped and the bathroom floor was heated! We loved the decor and the fact that we could easily park right out side. Natalie was a responsive, helpful and kind host and we recommend staying here.
Natalie’s place is very cosy and well presented. I could not fault it and would come back in a heart beat. Great heating appliances beds internet info about the area. Would recommend Natalie’s place for a stay in beautiful Dunedin. Helen
Natalie’s place was perfect for us, really beautiful house on a fairly quiet street not far from town. The interior design was beautiful and the house was very spacious and had everything we needed. Lots of nice touches and lovely soaps and coffee/ teas provided. Natalie was very responsive and helpful. Thank you!
The area between the "Exchange" on Princes St and the Railway Station/Toitu (formerly the Otago Early Settlers Museum) is filled with stunning, restored heritage buildings. Once home to warehouses and offices, many have been converted to inner-city apartments, fine dining establishments, bars and quirky cafes. Wander through the streets and admire the Victorian and Edwardian architecture for which Dunedin is renowned, grab a bite or coffee at a local eatery (Heritage Coffee Co, The Perc Exchange, Taste Nature) to soak up the vintage vibes. There are many bars, cafes and restaurants within a 15 minute walking radius of the house.
The cottage is well placed for sight seeing at the city's top attractions. Walk to the Octagon or down to Toitu museum and the Chinese Gardens (10-15 Minutes). Dunedin Railway Station, for the Farmers Market (Saturday mornings) or Taieri Gorge Train excursions, is a further 5 minutes from there. Monarch Wildlife Cruises departure point and Plato restaurant on the waterfront is an easy walk away.
Taste Nature - sells organic vegetables, fruit, pantry goods and Dunedin's best sourdough bread. It uses handy to the house on lower High Street. Princes St Butcher offers quality meats and small-goods is also nearby. Countdown's downtown supermarket is a short drive away or order online and get your groceries delivered.
For personal grooming there is a stylish barber at the bottom of Stafford St.
If you like shopping for second-hand and vintage goods and collectibles Princes and the surrounding streets are home to several antique dealers, Haywards auction house and a Salvation Army Charity Store.
Buses to the University or St Clair beach depart from Princes St. Catch Number 108 to St Clair. Intercity buses leave from outside Countdown on lower Moray Place.
Free street parking is readily available. If you don't have a car you can walk or take a short taxi ride to anywhere in the central city from here. There is a regular bus service to Otago University, the Polytechnic, Dunedin Hospital, North East Valley, Mornington and St Clair from nearby (Princes St or High Street). The Otago Harbour Loop Cycle Trail is easy to access from our place too.
