Nearby Braunton is the gateway to some of North Devon’s finest beaches including Saunton and Croyde. At Woolacombe, you can enjoy the sandy beaches or learn to surf at one of the many surf schools in the area. Close by are the Braunton Burrows sand dunes which are designated an Area of Special Scientific Interest. The nearby town of Ilfracombe has a good range of shops and amenities. It has a bustling harbour area where fishing and sea safari trips can be arranged. There is also the famous Tunnels Beach area. For guests wanting to explore a little further afield, there is plenty to do for all ages in the area including Clovelly, the lighthouse, and the quay at Hartland, the Big Sheep and Milky Way amusement parks, RHS Garden Rosemoor at Torrington, cycling on the Tarka Trail or crabbing at Appledore quay. The regional town of Barnstaple has plenty of shops, a pannier market, restaurants, a cinema, and a theatre - well worth a visit. Trimstone Manor is also within reach of Exmoor National Park.
