Island escape, as promised and expected. You will need to bring or rent a boat. We had a great experience with Welaka Boat Rentals. It was just a 2 minute boat ride across to a great lunch/dinner restaurant (Idle Awhile). About a 20 minute boat ride to Renegade’s, which is also a great lunch/dinner restaurant (and location of boat rental). We used and enjoyed the provided bikes to explore the island (2 adult and 2 youth), as well as the dart board, basketball hoop, and great yard space. We didn’t spend a lot of time in the house, other than to shower and sleep. We did use the coffeemakers (keurig and small basket), waffle maker (single), and propane grill. The kitchen was well stocked and the coffee supplies, cooking oil, and seasonings were much appreciated, as were the plentiful trash bags, cleaning supplies, and laundry supplies. We visited mud springs, salt springs, and silver glen, and all were beautiful and within a 30ish minute boat ride.

our stay was great the kids loved riding the bikes on the trail and the fishing was great too we caught catfish, stingray, and brim. we saw a lot of wildlife. The house was amazing. so much to do if it was raining and it did rain for 2 days there were games movies and coloring books. the wraparound covered porch was amazing. Hans and his wife Isabella we're super friendly and accommodative they made sure we had everything we needed.

Awesome location! We loved being on this remote island. Make sure to bring enough food for your stay or you can go to the restaurant across the way. Food was great! Kids loved the games and bunk beds. Ferry only runs very limited times (no Saturday or Sunday runs)so bringing your own boat is key. Hans was very helpful, with an extremely quick response time if we needed anything. We will definitely be back!

To begin with, Hans and his wife are by far the most wonderful owners we’ve ever dealt with when booking through Airbnb. They bent over backwards to make this vacation magical for our family! There is some planning logistics regarding getting there and some pre-planning required for meals and groceries (nothing is on the island for supplies) but every moment of planning was worth it and we will do it over and over again to get back there as soon as possible! Although there is nothing on the island other than a small number of homes and unspoiled beauty, there are more activities provided by this home than you could ever dream of. The cabin is perfect, amazing dock, fishing poles and tackle (yes we caught many fish right off the dock!), bikes, basketball, games galore, kayaks, canoe, fire pit, and so much more! This was a real “back to basics” adventure with the family and it was exactly what we were looking for! The owners thought of every single detail to make this home a true gem!
