Have a peaceful, restful stay at this centrally-located, Rivertown retreat in downtown Hastings-on-Hudson. Our home situates you right in the heart of our village's downtown, only 1 block from Main Street. Explore the charms of riverside living or travel to New York City by car or train in only 25-35 minutes. Our home is historic and charming, combining mid century chandeliers with the warmth of a white brick fireplace (not functional at this time) with large flatscreen TVs and other modern amenities. Primary Suite Bedroom Features a spacious King sized bed, closet, dresser, seating space and bedside table. There are light filtering window curtains, not blackout as we like the space to receive natural light. Watch your favorite shows on the 34 inch Smart TV, equipped with all the streaming applications. Cozy luxe bedding and linens are included. Lower Level Bathroom Full bathroom with a small, but high water pressure, step-in shower. There is a sink, vanity, toilet and small built-in space heater (works great in winter months!). Shampoo, Body wash, Hand soap, toilet paper, towels and bed linens are all provided/included. Living Room This is a cozy lounge space! Curl up on the couch with a good book, or browse the streaming apps on our large (70+ inch) flat screen TV. There is a sofa loveseat, a comfy rocking chair with ottoman, large coffee table and a large arm chair for guests to enjoy. The original brick fireplace is not functional at this time and we do not allow guests to use it (YouTube has great fireplace ambiances to enjoy); there is an electric fireplace for use in the dining area. Dining Room Large 4 person dining area with ample natural light and an electric fireplace. Seating is comprised of 2 upholstered, high back chairs and a sofa seater. Kitchen We love to cook! The kitchen is fully stocked with pots, pans, plates, silverware, glassware and all major appliances (fridge, freezer, toaster, microwave, wine key, can opener etc.). We have a drip, American coffee maker, an Italian espresso maker, and a large tea pot. You'll find baking trays, pizza tray, muffin pans, and various other baking supplies. The pantry will likely have basic necessities like salt, pepper, coffee, dish soap, oil, and other basics, though we cannot guarantee the amounts for each guest. There will be a roll of paper towels provided to guests, but we kindly ask you limit your paper usage and instead use our kitchen towels. Upper Level Bathroom Small bathroom with sink, vanity, toilet, and a deep soaking tub. Please note, guests must be able to go up and down interior and exterior stairs during their stay. There is a large exterior deck, with outdoor seating and lighting for enjoying the stars and surroundings. This is a private deck for guests, again, there are no shared or common spaces.

Our host was incredibly kind, proactive and responsive. The home looked just like the photos: A nice, comfortable clean home. Older cabinet/restrooms, which for some may be charming. Deck is lovely and relaxing - the view is of the neighboring house. It’s a split home, so though guest and host do not have any shared space you can readily hear people coming and going as the living room shares a wall with the other entry way. Can walk to town for coffee and bagels or dinner, which is always lovely. Nestled in a quiet, charming small town just outside of NYC.
Great location and place! Will definitely stay again! Kathleen was very easy to work with! Amazing what she has done so far to this newly acquired home! Can’t wait to see the future upgrades she does to make this an even better place in Hastings on Hudson ! Such a sweet town! Thank you and look forward to visiting again one day!
Great place to stay in the Hastings-on-Hudson area, much more cozy and private than a hotel or other nearby airbnb for a decent price. It was very clean, had everything we needed, and even has private parking. Some of the walkways and staircases are short and slim, so larger/taller folks or those with lots of luggage might struggle a little. Quiet safe neighborhood too, with lots of great food options within a five minute walk. Almost like renting a full private house!

Enjoy being right in the heart of the village of Hastings-on-Hudson! Our home is situated right in the center of downtown, offering secure and free 24/7 driveway parking, and easy access to all the charms of this Rivertown village.
The Hudson Rivertown's are truly historic and charming gems! We hope you check out the area, shop and dine right here in our village; there is so much to explore and visit. The Museum in the Streets, right in the downtown, opens your eyes to this areas rich and varied history.
We have had guests come all the way from Vermont shop at our unique, local record store (just 2 minutes walking from the house), and other guests come to stay to visit the antique shops here in the village, or just to escape the bustle of NYC and have a brief getaway.
Hasting's top rated Saturday farmer's market by the train station (or the Community Center on Main St. in the winter) is an experience to remember.
Hastings on Hudson also has its own real speakeasy, unique restaurants (check out our Guide Book), live music venues and spots, wine bars, a pub with classic tavern food selections, art galleries, antique, thrift and floral shops, high-end home decor/design stores, coffee shops, an old fashioned diner, family ice cream shops, a charming sourdough waffle and coffee joint, an authentic Italian cafe with delicious coffee and takeaway pre-made meals, latino comfort food, a family-owned pharmacy and hardware store, nail and hair salons, local post office, and more. There is so much to do here, not to mention the proximity to NYC!
Take a pleasant stroll right from our front porch and arrive at a delicious deli, natural grocery store and market, a wine bar with tapas, a cozy, authentic Japanese and Sushi bar, a traditional liquor and wine store, a bodega, and a gas station.
It's an ideal location for escapees from NYC & much appreciated by remote workers/business travelers needing to de-stress, or wishing to stay close to but not IN New York City/Manhattan. Also, this is a wonderful option for business folks, artists and writers searching for a peaceful, relaxing environment to allow them to focus.
The home has high-speed WiFi. The primary television is a SamSung, Smart TV (70+ inches) equipped with streaming apps.
Our home is also a convenient accommodation for parents in town visiting their college kids, single person getaways and couples wanting time away from daily routines. Stay a night, a weekend or longer.
Transportation:
Traveling, or planning to arrive by train? We're just a short walk or brief drive away from the village train station and cafe.
The train line is called Metro-North, Hastings-on-Hudson, NY stop. It's only a 5-7 minute walk to the Rivertown Retreat (our home) or take a $5.00 Uber/Lyft.
(This is recommended since you may be carrying luggage from the train. There are somewhat steep hills in the area.)
The Metro-North train is about 35 minutes to Grand Central, or about 25 minutes if you select the Express Train option.

2 minute walk to the downtown/Village of Hastings (we're IN the downtown residential zone!).
3 minute walk to Hastings Public Library.
