格洛斯特郡(Gloucestershire) · 农家仓房 · 6室0床4.0卫 · 可住12人 · Glorious Barn, Offers accommodation for 6/8/10/12
An 18th Century barn set in 17 acres of Cotswold countryside, beautifully converted to cater for parties of 6/8/10/12 people. It's got everything for larger groups be it be family and/friends gathering or a holistic retreat. Cosy rooms, fully equipped kitchen, woodland walks, log fire, fire pit, giant chess board, trampoline, football nets, abundant wildlife. The Main Mill House can be available for private & corporate events, retreats and workshops. Outside feel free to explore 17 acres of unspoilt countryside and a pretty courtyard garden. There are numerous outside areas for relaxing including a fire-pit, an open-air chessboard, extensive decking and a sunken trampoline. Views extend to the open countryside and the infant River Thames. Mature olive trees believed to be over 100 years old and palm trees give the garden a Mediterranean feel. The nearest station is Kemble Station.
This place is quite an idyllic little paradise. There are lots of different outside spaces, whether it's the playground/trampoline/campfire area, the football pitch, the lawn out front, and finally the little forest alongside the river which also has a hidden log-seated area. All beautiful. The house is extremely spacious, with a large living window that allows you to feel connected to the outside whether it's rain or shine. A great big dining table for meals & picky spreads. The grounds are quite large and generally fenced off so if you have a dog (like we did) they can explore and not get into too much trouble. Rachel (+Lucy & Nico) were excellent and responsive hosts. The bedrooms were spacious. We came as a group of 10 with 3 teenagers and it worked absolutely perfectly for us all. Loved our stay and we will be back in the future.
We have 17 acres of lovely countryside, with the enfant river Thames flowing through our grounds, on the edge of a beautiful, peaceful Cotswold village. It's a tranquil, glorious place any time of the year, with an abundance of wildlife.
The lovely market town of Cirencester is only 3 miles away. Corinium Dobunnorum (the Cirencester of old) was the comfortable capital of Roman Britain and fine Roman villas dot the hills nearby. Cirencester itself is pretty, historic and generally a great place to visit. It boasts the oldest famer's market in the country. Farmers still bring their produce to market every 1st and 3rd Saturday of the month.
Malmesbury to the south has a haunting Benedictine Abbey that towers over the town almost six centuries after dissolution.
William Morris considered Bibury, a short drive north, the most beautiful village in England. We still think so, second to our village of course.
If you're up for a sturdy walk (or short drive), Cotswold Water Park offers water-skiing, kayaking, rally driving, paint-balling and, in the summer, a beach. It's got some good places to eat too.
Local pubs - the Tavern, the Potting Shed and the Bakers’ Arms - are all a pleasant stroll over the fields.
Kemble train station is a short walk. Otherwise, bikes or taxis are recommended. We're in the country - but we can't offer you a tractor I'm afraid.
