Natural Delight! Hike up 300 feet to the Hideout: your PRIVATE, ONE-OF-A-KIND GLAMPING experience. Nestled in the woods, the Hideout provides comfort for nature lovers & relaxation for adventurers. Feel the cool mountain breeze as you look through the trees across the meadow to the Blue Ridge Mountain range. Invite the outside in while you rest in the sleeping quarters. Quiet, peaceful, natural & unique. Not completely off-grid, but a “low grid” luxury experience for you & your companion. If you are looking for peace and quiet, the Hideout is perfect for you. Whether you want to retreat from the city or go adventure hiking and biking, you will love it here. Because it is a low-grid, unique glamping experience there are some features we want you to be aware of. The Hideout is fed by fresh, cold, mountain spring water. But with that comes low-pressure running water. The Hideout does have a flushing toilet, outdoor shower, electricity, and 5G access but it DOES NOT HAVE WiFi or a TV. (Free WiFi available at Appalachian Java- 15 mins from Hideout). Enjoy a quality night’s sleep in the interestingly designed a-frame. Use the private “Loo with A View” Dutch-door bathroom just a few steps down the path. Take an afternoon nap under the shade trees in the hammock. Each night have dinner on the deck, watching a breath-taking mountain sunset, then gaze at the certified Dark Sky for shooting stars and the Milky Way Galaxy. The Hideout is exactly what you are looking for your next get away.

Don and Kate’s “Hideout” was exceptional It was the best Airbnb I have ever stayed in. It has a gorgeous view of the mountains all while being completely private for a peaceful visit. There were plenty of amenities, providing for the most comfortable stay. Clean, unique and perfect for those looking to reconnect with nature in a fun ‘glamping’ experience. Don and Kate were wonderful hosts, with a very quick response time for all questions and needs. I’d strongly recommend this Airbnb to anyone looking to stay in NC.
The Hideout is the perfect glamping experience. It’s very peaceful and relaxing. We felt safe and got to connect with nature for the weekend. Don and Kate were the best hosts I have ever had! They had such thoughtful amenities. They had heated blankets for the night, first aid kit, a flash to use! Not to mention the sweet special touches they added with providing eggs, honey, and bread. We were taken care of the day entire stay and did a lot of their recommendations and enjoyed them all. You may see a little cat visitor, and he is the sweetest boy! Overall this was such a great stay for us and we’d love to revisit The Hideout!
One of the places we have stayed using AirBnB! My wife and I truly enjoyed everything about this place, Super clean, private. We loved all the little details that Don and Kate laid out from the fresh farm eggs to the fresh honey! Also saw an eagle which was the cherry on top!!! If your thinking about booking this place, just do it!!!
Getting up to the air bnb can be a bit tricky!!!! Especially with belongings, and when wet. But other than that, great experience! Would stay again!
This place was genuinely amazing. The views were amazing. Watching the sunsets with the mountain views was top tier. The hammock was amazing. This is a wonderful place for lovers. We absolutely loved your cat, Abe. We will definitely return. We will miss this place so much! Every detail was so well thought out. :) Thank you for sharing your home with us.

About the area: Burnsville, NC is a special small town tucked into the Blue Ridge Mountains. It boasts a quaint downtown with coffee shops, restaurants, breweries, farmers market, and Mount Mitchell - the highest peak east of the Rocky Mountains. The Hideout is close to so many beautiful hiking trails, waterfalls, and outdoor adventures. It is a community of artists and art studios too. It is also less than 5 minutes to the Mayland Earth to Sky Park Observatory and shares the same stars and Dark Sky certification. The Hideout is centrally located with many special towns within an hour’s drive - Spruce Pine (15 mins), Asheville (45 mins), Boone (55 mins), Banner Elk (55 mins), Newland (50 mins), Roan Mountain for the Appalachian Trail (50 mins), Marion (25 mins), Mars Hill (25 mins)
