Kuya Ponso and ate Bea were very responsive and catered to all our requests, but was not able to fix the faucet in the bathroom which kept popping out and water spraying eveey time the toilet's bidet was used. The place needs to be maintaned as it's made of mostly wood and leaves. Big spiders and ants were abundant. there needs to be a covered trash can that dogs and cats cannot topple over, because no matter how tight you tie the plastic bags, the stray animals looking for food will get food no matter what. The ladder going up the attic room above the dining area was steep. We spent Christmas in a place where there was no wifi, and had to use up a lot of our mobile data to greet relatives. When the caretakers were asked if host was aware of the problem, they said he had been fully aware and this was not disclosed to us.

If you wish to spend quality time with your fam i.e. bond over a meal, dip in pool, chat while watching the sunset, Derrick's is your place. The caretakers Pons and Bea are the real gems of this place. They make sure that the place is well kept, fallen leaves are swept and taken care of by the time you wake up. While the place does not have an AC, the air is clean and cool even at noon. You'd be able to sleep comfortably at night with an electric fan or simply keep the window ajar so breeze from the lake can get in. We were unable to use the loft above the kitchen as wood dust keep on falling and the stair is too steep even for young adults. TV needs replacing (termite canals on the led inside) and while there is a wifi router, service is unvailable. Nevertheless, there's strong network signal from mobile phones so you can hook into your work without issues. My furbabies loved the gazebo by the lake. There are big dogs outside so make sure to secure your groceries and leftovers.
