Matthew is an attentive host with excellent communication skills. He is kind and willing to accommodate his guests. We booked our prior Boulder place until the 31st and then booked Matthew's place the 1st! Matthew went out of his way to ensure we had a place for the night of the 31st, and we are grateful. He also reimbursed us to get a folding mattress for the floor for our son when we needed the extra bedding space, and he purchased a TV so we could connect it to our laptops to watch on a larger screen. He works to accommodate his guests. The Property: We have been traveling for over 5 months when we got to Matthew's house, staying monthly in Airbnb's and at a couple others for a few days in between. Versus our other experiences, we liked the closet space, back yard, fire pit, proximity to hiking trails and the garage for storage of our suitcases, bikes and crates (not available to park but 2 cars fit in the drive). Lucky's Market and coffee shops are directly across the street are a plus. While we were hoping to give a 5-star property review, we had to stop short. We felt the property description was different than what we experienced. In particular the bedroom description… "There are firm, queen-sized beds in each bedroom (3 total), making it possible to sleep up to 6 comfortably", is the online description. We assumed they all 3 were real beds and not pullouts (2 of the 3). We will take some of the blame, since when we looked more closely at the photos, we could see they were sofa beds. Depending upon your party, this is something to consider and something we wish we had realized. We had older family members visit for a week, and they had to each have their own bed since neither person wanted to be against the sofa cushions and hemmed in (hence our son on the floor!) Versus other Airbnb's we stayed in, the kitchen was adequately but minimally stocked and outfitted – for example, there is no lighting by the sink and the long counter, and it is dark and hard to see at night if you enjoy cooking. There are the minimum amount of dishes and cookware but some basic items were missing and we improvised. As a heads up, we felt the photos do not show that the living room, dining room and kitchen are one square room, not separate. Because we were able to use the outdoor table as an office and living space during the wonderful weather, it was not a problem, but for a long stay, depending on the composition of your party and weather, and how people like to interact, it is something to consider.

We stayed at Matthew’s home for 5 weeks and had a lovely time. Many reviews have focused on Matthew’s professionalism, thoughtfulness and promptness in responding to questions. This was absolutely our experience so I don’t need to repeat that here. I’ll add that we found the house very comfortable for our long term stay with small children. The kitchen was well equipped (e.g., instant pot, blender) with good cabinet space. I liked that it was open to the living/dining area so I could keep an eye on the kids playing while cooking. We had no issues with the appliances (eg dishwasher, washer/dryer), which we used frequently. Our kids used regular utensils/plates/cups so I didn’t notice if kid-specific items were present or not. The water pressure in the showers was very good. The house also gets really great light and manages to be bright without getting too hot. We rarely used the air during the day while we were there in July, and there are fans in the living and bedrooms. One aspect that we hadn’t considered that we ended up loving was the front lawn / front porch / back garden. The back garden is super cute and colorful and feels like an extension of the house. We used it as an “outside home office” since its adjacent to the den (which has a work desk). We also enjoyed many meals on both the cozy front porch and rear patio. And the view of the back garden from the primary bedroom is sweet and special as well. There are also many activities for kids within a short drive. We enjoyed Toddler music classes (Music Together), gymnastics (Boulder rec center), the Boulder reservoir, art camps (Sunflower and Tinker art studios), swimming pool (Scott Carpenter), Foothills park/playground, and the Boulder Main library with its amazing playground. It was so nice to not have to deal with traffic because of the great location. We loved our time in Boulder and feel so lucky to have found Matthew and Lina’s house!

This place was wonderful! The house had everything you needed and more. Very comfortable, clean and well stocked with great character and added touches. Matthew was an excellent host responding quickly and always offering help and recommendation for local things to do. Highly recommend this location. It was perfect for our family of four!

Gorgeous home just as pictured in a beautiful neighborhood. Very convenient to downtown Boulder and easy to venture out to other locations in Colorado. Matthew was a fabulous host and could not for a better place or host.
