Fabio and his girlfriend Claudia are the most unbelievably kind, thoughtful and fun people. We really felt like we were old friends who had come to stay, rather than customers on Airbnb. When we arrived they gave us a detailed tour of the house and wrote down a long list of recommended restaurants, towns to visit, beaches etc. Every time we wanted a restaurant reservation they offered to book it for us. In over a decade of regular use of Airbnb I have never met hosts this nice. Fabio is a doctor and (unfortunately for us) had to write us two prescriptions for guests who were sick. It was so helpful to have easy access to a doctor during our stay! The place is also fabulous. There was plenty of room for the eight of us (two families with two kids each). While the house has somewhat of a "lived in" feel (eg you have to be careful opening the doors and windows), it's a lovely place. Extremely old in construction, but sympathetically modernised. But the location, the grounds and the view are spectacular. The house is surrounded by several acres of its own property, in a sloping garden covered in lush grass and fruit trees, with a good sized swimming pool. The terrace next to the house is shaded by abundant grape vines, and has a heart stopping view over hills and fields down to the sea, then out to Elba and on to Corsica, which is clearly visible over 100 miles away. There is nothing ugly to disturb the entire panorama. All around the property is miles of undisturbed forest, and nearby there is a medieval village called Roccatederighi, which has a good restaurant, a pharmacy, bakery, coop, ham and cheese shop, fruit and vegetable shop, several cafes... and an 11th century hilltop quarter with narrow streets and spectacular views. Siena is one hour's drive, and Massa Marittima, an extraordinarily beautiful medieval city, is half an hour away. An excellent beach at Carbonifera is 45 mins drive. Nearer to hand are forests, pretty villages with good food, and ruined castles. In short... heaven!

We truly loved Fabio fantastic villa. The house is nicely rebuilt and the view is breathtaking over the Tuscan hills. The location is fantastic, the surrounding is quiet, and beautiful environment with wine grapes as a roof outside were we had breakfast and dinner. We also appreciated that Fabio was very engaged and gave us a lot of recommendations, and was very helpful as host. The pool was perfect, clean and quite big. A nice area close to the pool were you could lay in the shade. The house is in between two small villages where you could buy food, visit the bakery, cafe or local butcher. To the Mediterranean Sea you could go by car in 40 minutes. We were two families with kids between 5-12 years and I truly recommend the house. (But if you have problem walking or are disabled the house could be problematic because it is steep slope up to the house from the parking. )

Une maison exceptionnelle dans un cadre exceptionnel. Restauration d’une ancienne maison avec goût et intelligence. Mélange de modernité dans un cadre ancien. Emplacement est exceptionnel également. En plein milieu de la campagne Toscane, quasiment sans voisins, et avec une vue exceptionnelle jusqu’à la mer et les îles avoisinantes. L’Internet est très approximatif ce qui pour certains sera un autre argument pour la location. Le calme est total. L’hôte, Fabio, présent par téléphone ou message à la demande pour tout type de conseils touristiques et pour répondre à toute problématique dans la maison. Une aide franchement appréciable.

Fabio a été très disponible pour des idées de balades et pour toutes questions. logement plein de charme et rénové avec goût et minimalisme architectural, dans le respect de la bâtisse d origine. Sauvage et magnifique.
