Cottage 14 is a quaint rustic cottage with one king bed, a full bath with shower, A/C, mini-fridge, cable, television, iron/ironing board, hairdryer, coffee pot, microwave, and free Wi-Fi. As with all guests who join our Ohana, there is full access to the indoor kitchen downstairs in the main building, the outdoor kitchen and grill, full access to the common use hot tub, and the bonfire pit on the back lawn. Cottages at The Open Hearth Inn are a rustic but private little base camp for all of your Acadia Adventures. These cabins (9 in total) have been on the property since sometime in the 50s and although they are 'vintage' in nature, they are a comfortable trip back in time ;). Just a mile away from the first picnic area in the park and the welcome centre, this property is the ultimate budget option for a place to stay while you play. The basis of the Open Hearth Inn is the main house, built in the 1820's it's best known for its historic charm. One of 20 rooms and everyone has plenty of space to stretch outside, gather in the old hearth room and play some board games, stretch out on the couch and watch movies on the common use 70" tv, make some new friends, and explore the real reason we call it 'Ohana'.

The inns were absolute gems! Cozy and clean and the perfect stop. Great location just outside of bar harbor. We were only there for 1 night on the way through but wish we could have stayed longer. The bed was super comfortable and great shared amenities as well. Would happily stay again when in the area!
AMAZING
One word- AMAZING. We loved it here. We only stayed for 2 nights to hike Acadia and it was perfect distance. The amenities were so great and we felt just at home. We loved the hot tub and fire pit. We brought both of our dogs which made the stay so much better. Everything was clean and the bed was comfortable. We will definitely be staying here again! Thank you so much!!
We had a great stay at Open Hearth Inn! Arthur was very communicative and provided a really helpful digital guest book. It's in a great location right outside of Acadia and very near Bar Harbor.
Great little spot for access to Acadia NP but out of the super touristy areas and closer to nature, which we enjoyed. Comfortable bed. Hot tub and access to washer/dryer were a huge plus. Arthur communicated extremely well and was helpful!

Trenton is the town just off of Mount Desert Island (MDI to the locals) which is home to Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor. We are just a mile from the first park picnic area and shortly after the fabled trails of Acadia including Beehive, Precipice, Cadillac Mtn, Beech Mtn, Little Long Pond, and all the popular tours like boating, puffins, lobstering, and lighthouses! It's an adventurer's paradise and that is exactly why we bought the Open Hearth Inn ;).
Free parking right outside your door (all cottages have parking TO THE LEFT of the cottage)! Bakery and Lunts Lobster shop within about a 1 min walk just across the road. Trenton is the gateway to Acadia and the park starts just half a mile down the road!
Acadia National Park is just a quick 10 mins down the road and the centre of Bar Harbor a mere 20 mins. Experience the beauty of Mount Desert Island without the hustle and bustle of downtown Bar Harbor while still being fairly close to anything you could possibly need for the best Maine adventure. NO matter the time of year; spring, summer, autumn, or winter The Open Hearth will always be waiting for you.
