Location! Location! Location! A wonderful vacation spot located in the heart of the Green Mountains at Woodford Lake Estates in Woodford, VT on the way to Mount Snow and Wilmington. Escape with the whole family to this warm, stylish, cozy, and peaceful home in a lakeside community that borders the National Forest. There is EVERYTHING to do here for nature and outdoor recreational enthusiasts and a short drive to quaint towns, shops, and restaurants. Let's GO! SUMMER - enjoy fishing, swimming, kayaking, and paddle boarding on Big Pond just a few minutes walk from the road, A short drive brings you to Woodford State Park with another beautiful lake, hikes, and boat rentals. Another 15 minutes will bring you to Harriman Reservoir, also known as Lake Whitingham. Motorboat and jet ski rentals are available. Drive down a nearby dirt road and visit the stunning Somerset Reservoir for great fishing. Endless Hiking and biking trails are nearby (including just out your door) in Green Mountain National Forest, including a nearby trailhead that connects to the Long and Appalachian Trails. Head up to nearby Mount Snow for summer concerts and downhill mountain bike riding and events! WINTER: Ski, snowshoe, cross-country, snowmobile, sled - 30 min to Mount Snow, 50 to Stratton, and 1 mile from Prospect Mtn Nordic Ski Center which is also a great place for sledding and snowshoeing. There is immediate access to the VAST trail (Snowmobile paradise) with rentals and tours just down the road. Get CREATIVE: The house comes with Roku TV Games, Puzzles, Books (kids and adults), Record Player, lots of Art supplies, a Guitar - capo and picks Get ACTIVE: Two mountain bikes, lake toys, 2 paddle boards, hiking poles, snowshoes, sleds, portable smokeless fire pit. EXPLORE: Enjoy the nearby city/town (15 minutes) of Bennington, VT (For history buffs - visit the Bennington Battlefield (1777) Monument ). And the quaint town of Wilmington (20 min) with its antique shops, restaurants, local spa, and Vermont wares (think Maple Syrup and lots of crafts) is located on the way to Mount Snow. The house is a light, stylish, cozy 3 bedroom, 1 bath cottage with a fully equipped kitchen, large screen Roku TV, washer + Dryer, and lovely rain shower. It is a short walk to the lake and the resident's private beach access. Enjoy the sound of 2 seasonal babbling creeks through the property, a backyard fire pit, and two porches overlooking the surrounding forest. Woodfired Sauna coming soon - winter 2025 Access to the House is off a relatively level dirt and gravel road and the driveway has a slight incline and is also dirt and gravel. We weren’t sure what to expect with a mountain retreat cottage, but the photos were completely accurate. It was cozy, clean, modern, comfortable; just perfect for our chicks weekend getaway. Conveniently located near Bennington and Wilmington but felt like it was “off the beaten path”. Only challenge was getting the Roku TV system to work in the living room. Co-host Adam was great about calling right away to try to help us troubleshoot from afar. Eventually the more techy friend among us figured it out, but having written instructions would be helpful. Overall a great stay, great value, and even with much more snow on the ground than we expected for a “spring” weekend, we didn’t really want to leave and go back to reality!

Very lovely place. Well kept. The guitar and record player were a nice touch. 3 seperate rooms was perfect for a us considering we had a snorer, a cpap user, and a light sleeper with us during our stay. One person in our group said this was the best sleep he has had in a long time. Would definitely stay again.

Quiet, mostly vacation homes surroundings a lake and adjacent to entrance to the VAST (snowmobile) trails.
This is a remote area. You will need a car, preferably 4WD in the winter. It's a smooth dirt road and a short kinda steep gravel driveway with ample parking for several cars and room for a snowmobile trailer.
