This 150-year-old Hudson Valley farmhouse, owned by a former interiors editor for magazines, is set on 16 acres of land backed by a mountain preserve, with a large barn and outbuildings. It's just 10 minutes from Windham mountain, a fantastic ski resort for families. The great room is the heart of the house, and it has WiFi, Sonos, Apple TV and a video projector to watch movies at night. A great place to stay with a group or two to three families. With four main bedrooms, plus one large loft bedroom with 4 sleeping spots perfect for older kids/teens or adults, the house can easily sleep 10. The great room is expansive, and the large dining table seats at least 10. Fully stocked kitchen, with pots/pans, coffee maker, toaster, popcorn maker, slow cooker, dutch oven, standing mixer and blender. Pantry stocked with all the basics, and a collection of stoneware serving platters, bowls, glasses, all sizes of plates and trays make for easy entertaining. The main bedroom and kids bedroom are on the second floor in the original part of the house, with a full bathroom with bath and shower. The larger guest room is just underneath on the first floor, next to the second full bathroom, that has a walk in shower. The smaller guest room is in the newer part of the house, off the dining room (with sliding door for full privacy...) The loft bedroom, with a queen and two beds, is accessible by library ladder, so not suitable for young kids or older folks, and is open to the main area via a half wall (though people from below can't see the loft space, the sound from below can travel up...)

Stephane & Kieran's place was so lovely! You can tell it is a much-loved home, beautifully decorated with thoughtful attention to details. The 9 of us-- 5 adults and 4 teenagers-- appreciated everything about the house-- the fresh flowers, the abundant supply of tableware, the gorgeous coffee table books. Everything so tastefully done. We spent a long weekend cooking, grilling, playing the many board games they had available and watching movies on the projector screen. We are already planning our return! Thank you both for a truly special stay.
This was our 4th stay. We’ve loved every visit. The house is perfect for a large family. The kitchen has everything you need. The outdoor space is beautiful and peaceful. One of our favorite places in all of the Hudson Valley.
Many have mentioned that this place somehow manages to be better in-person than in the pictures, and they are totally right. In fact, I felt like I walked into a home in an interior design magazine (I should know because i work at one!). I was here with friends for my bachelorette weekend and we were impressed by all of the entertaining amenities (dinner at the main dining table was the dream) as well as the thoughtful details (including fresh spray roses!!) in every room. Everything was sparkling clean. Don’t even get me started on the gorgeous grounds— we spent the afternoons beneath the pergola, evenings around the fireplace, and, in the mornings, would wake up to birdsong. Will definitely be booking this special place again!
Stephane’s home is somehow even more beautiful than the photos! We had a lovely weekend in Acra, the home is great for a large group as the bedrooms are spread out and there are two living areas (and two large dining tables). The decor and renovations are so tastefully done and cozy. Would love to return!
We had a lovely stay in this beautifully renovated farmhouse! We were impressed with the substantial decor and attention to detail to make this location so homey. Fully stocked kitchen with dinner and host ware, plenty of linens and blankets, and comfortable furniture. Highly recommend!
