Walking very convenient especially the Lakeside Shopping ctr , by car Joondalup is full of large shops and all pretty close by max 10 minutes , but if travelling to the City centre on the Freeway the Mitchell freeway Hodges drive entry is only 4 minutes or less away and then head left onto to it towards Perth, travel time varies about 25 minutes but avoid taking it between 6 and 9 am and coming back from Perth between 2.30 and 6 pm it's Kaos it will take a lot longer.
The Train is a safe bet on those times then when in the City no need to spend on parking use the Free Cat Bus Service to take you to most places including Kings Park , University of WA, Sir Charles Gairdner Hospital and most of the important touristic spots in Perth and at no charge and depending on time and Line 5 to max 15 minutes intervals Check the Blue Red Green Yellow and now new Purple lines.
