St Mawes has a selection of boutique shops, cafés, restaurants, and pubs with a wide menu choice to suit everyone. St Mawes Castle is just over ½ mile away, and a gentle stroll takes you to the remains of an old artillery fort built by Henry VIII where you can wander around the gardens soaking up the atmosphere. There is a local bus which takes you to Tregony and Portscatho, and, if you want to explore further, catch one of the ferries to Falmouth. This pretty town is situated on the harbour and there is lots to do here, including shopping, visiting the National Maritime Museum, walking around Pendennis Castle (another fortress built by Henry VIII) or walking along the coast path.
