A little about our boathouse.
Welcome to Ásustova. It is called after our mother in Klaksvík. If you see her be sure to say hi. Tell her were you are staying and we are sure she has a suprice for you. Oh, and give her a nice hug from us as well.
We are two families who own this boathouse condo. One family ( Eyðun and Guri ) lives in Tórshavn, Faroe Islands. The other family ( Hrafnhildur and Jógvan ) live in Iceland.
We built it as a summerhouse for ourselves and have put our best and finest details into the house. All the furniture is design furniture and we think dearly of it. We really hope you like it. Because we love it ! Please enjoy the sea and surroundings.
Practical infomation.
Parking is free. It´s a 150 m walk. You can do it !
The super-market is just across the road. It´s called Bónus and it has all the food you need. Also right across the road there is our local bakery. Weather it is you favourit morning loaf of bread, coffe of a warm lunch. That´s where you can find it. We do recomend that you get your fresh bundle, take it to Ásustova, open the big balcony door and enjoy it with the magical view that the bay has to offer.
Most of the highest mountain peaks in The Faroe Islands are located in the northern islands. If you would like og go climbing or hiking we sincerely recommend that you have contact with the the tourist board in Klaksvík. Ask them where to go og tell them where you are going. We do not recommend you go into the mountains on your own. They are steap and slippery 8 - 10 months of the year. And beautiful !
Above our house there is a bus stop and there you can travel to all the connected islands. From the north bay, Klaksvík, you can take a boat to Kalsoy. It´s a very long and magical island with all sorts of fairytales. The one about the Seal woman, where James Bond took his last breath right next to the Troll peninsula.
The swimming pool is about a 5-7 min. walk. Equipped with water slides, waterfalls, wellness and sauna.
Right next to it we have our little football station. And a running course.
In Klaksvík we have good restaurants, local funny smelling bars, an astonishing cultural house in the making and lots of boats. Too many fast food places and anything your stomach desires on a holiday. This is a small island so the necessity of long opening-hours does not exist. You should always check when certain places, like the local brewery, liquor store etc. are open.

The easiest way is just to ask. And if by chance you are invited into tea, coffee or a snaps don’t decline. The people on the island are the gem. You will have a hard time leaving the Faroe Islands ever again.
