Welcome to Happy's House, a family-friendly historic house that checks all the boxes! Our bright 4-bedroom two-story house is close to downtown and 12 miles from JIA. Nestled on a quiet street among mature oaks with a saltwater pool, it is just 15 miles to Atlantic Beach (a 22-28 minute drive.) We are just off Main Street, where you can enjoy local beer, ice cream, coffee, pizza & axe-throwing! This historic home was lovingly restored in 2017, and was our personal residence until 2022. It is the perfect place to unwind, relax and enjoy all that Springfield and downtown Jax has to offer. In order to keep a positive and strong relationship with our wonderful neighbors, please know that parties, events and unregistered guests are strictly prohibited. The Home - Primary bedroom with a Queen bed and large primary bath on the first floor. - Three upstairs bedrooms, one with a full bed, the other two with two twin beds. - Second floor full bath - Half bath on first floor. - Full size washer and dryer. The Outdoor Space - Semi-private pool (guests in both the house and separate carriage house apartment have access) - Variety of pool seating - Wood deck with patio table and chairs - Plentiful mature shade trees Things To Note - Guests in carriage house and main house have pool access. - The pool is cleaned frequently, but nature might drop a few leaves in the pool during your stay. A skimmer net is available. Upon Request (advanced notice required and dependent on availability) - Pool floats, accessories - Bluetooth speaker for poolside music - Outdoor grills (charcoal and Hibachi-style) - Pack n play and high chair for the littlest guests

Jennifer and her husband did an amazing job to bring this home back to life while leaving so many of the original beautiful features in tact. The house is exactly as pictured and the pool area is so tranquil!
Was in town for work for two weeks and my co-workers and I stayed at Jennifer’s place. The house is very cool. We had a nice time. Jennifer was quick to respond. The hosts were over to the house every other day to check the pool or backyard or take out trash etc., but sometimes it felt like too much - at least they communicated to me when doing so… I understand wanting to maintain the home.
Jennifer’s home was everything it was advertised to be. It was located close to everything you could possibly need. Highly recommended!
Jennifer was a great host! The house was comfortable and was the perfect accommodations for our family trip.
We felt right at home, loved the historic house and area…pool was lovely. Jennifer and Josh were accommodating and responsive. Big winner my kids never got bored, the community and neighbors were friendly, and the area was walkable. I’d highly recommend anyone staying to take a walk, enjoy all the street art, head to 1748 bakehouse for phenomenal pastry/coffee, Dreamette ice cream for a delicious variety, and Strings sports brewery for a chill spot and a nice sour!

Our family moved to the Springfield Historic District in 2017. We love the area's personality, yet we understand it may not be for everyone. Gorgeous native trees, grande historic homes, 3 micro-breweries, 2 coffee shops, 2 ice cream parlors, a bakery and several great restaurants are walkable (and you'll get to chat up the owners). And just 5 minutes to constant sporting events, concerts, and festivals throughout the year.
Springfield is a neighborhood in transition. You may come across a vagrant. While 90% of the homes are restored, there are a few in poor condition. As with any area close to a major downtown, there is a wide variety of people.
We occasionally stay in the house and live nearby. Please let us know if you have questions about the area.
Just 5 minutes from I-95 and 5 minutes from downtown. There is a bus stop 3 blocks away.
Free street parking throughout Springfield. Downtown Jax is mostly metered parking M-F with garages for special events. Uber and Lyft are popular.
