Welcome to The Understory. Nestled deep in the rhododendron covered woods, this romantic hand-crafted tiny home offers you a peaceful and memorable stay just 15 minutes from both Asheville and Black Mountain. Inside consists of 350 square feet of comfortable living space including a rain shower, king sized bed, cozy wood stove and a full kitchen. Surrounding the cabin is another 500 square feet of living space with a deck, outdoor soaking bathtub, and patio with a fire pit and propane grill. SLEEPING: Inside the cabin, climb up the ladder and you'll find a comfortable king sized bed. The Understory easily sleeps another person on the couch on the bottom level. We provide spare pillows and linens for this purpose. COOKING: The kitchen has a double burner induction stove, a microwave, mini-fridge with a small freezer, and all the other essentials. See our amenities section for a comprehensive list. CELL SERVICE/ INTERNET: There is little to no cell reception but we have high speed internet. Once you connect to the internet be sure your WI-FI Calling is on and you will be able to use your phone as normal. FIRE PIT/ GRILL: The patio has a fire pit. We can provide bundles of firewood for you for $5 each or feel free to bring your own wood. There is also a propane grill and we do provide the gas for the grill. WOOD STOVE: Inside the cabin we have a wood burning stove. The stove is shut down for the months of June, July, and August. There is heat and air conditioning but the stove can add a bit of coziness in the winter months. If you use the stove, please be sure to read the directions thoroughly and be very careful.
