Enjoy all the amenities this waterfront vacation home has to offer. On the Cow Creek arm of Lake Travis, directly across from Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge and minutes from Flat Creek Winery. Situated on 6 beautiful acres in the Texas Hill Country. This 2 bedroom guest house features a large deck and amazing views. Amenities include shared pool, outdoor kitchen & bar, gas grill, wood burning smoker, washer & dryer, outdoor fire pit, and a playscape for children. Private and secluded. We have 2 houses on 6 acres. We live in the larger house on the property. There are 2 named creeks that pass through the property, Cow Creek and Post Oak Creek. When Lake Travis is full, you can dock a boat or jetski in the back yard and have direct access to the lake via Cow Creek. Even when the lake is 40 feet or more below full, Cow Creek almost always has water flowing in it. Bring hiking boots or water shoes and explore up and down Cow Creek. Our neighbors have beautiful Longhorn cattle. We have deer, coyotes, raccoon, wild hogs, porcupine, turtles, snakes, and sometime fish.

So happy to have found this little gem! It was the perfect place for a relaxing weekend. Adorable little cottage on an absolutely beautiful property. The drive getting to the property is one of the prettiest I’ve ever seen in Texas, true hill country beauty! The host is awesome and super quick to respond. My dog and I walked the creek for about a half mile or so and had a great time exploring! The scenery and nature back there is stunning. I will definitely be returning in the near future!
We had been hoping to find somewhere close to nature in the Texas Hill Country for a few days holiday. The Bird House is an amazing place to stay in that regard and right next door to the Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge We spotted the Bird House when planning our trip and just knew we had to stay. That it exceeded our expectations was just a bonus. If you enjoy seeing an astonishing array of wild birds, look no further, and many from the comfort of the porch! That our hosts Robert and Isabel were so kind and welcoming just made our stay even more special. A memorable few days!

We had a wonderful getaway at the Birdhouse & would highly recommend. We went to explore nearby Balcones Canyonlands National Wildlife Refuge & get some rare birds. The refuge was super close and the house was the perfect location. We saw a ton of birds in the yard including a golden-cheeked warbler, mating vermillion flycatchers, golden fronted woodpeckers, bluebirds, Lincoln's sparrows & hummingbirds. We walked along the creek every night exploring and discovered canyon wrens & swallows along the way. Robert was a gracious host & very responsive & helpful. The house had everything we needed and we cooked every night. The property is so special--a total gem for our needs & we hope others find it as the perfect getaway too. Thank you Robert!
