A lovely house to spend a week in! We watched sunrise from our bedroom, then came down to the view of the Bay for breakfast. So much to see! A bald eagle visiting from across the Bay, herons commuting to work, fish leaping from the water, container ships and cruise ships heading out to sea, crab boats checking their traps. The house, right on the Bay, is full of light. Four roomy bedrooms plus the bunkbed room (my 5' 4" sister was quite comfortable there) was plenty for our group of nine adults. The living/dining/kitchen area is spacious, with a beautiful Bay view. The kitchen is very well equipped, including spices and condiments. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived. The street is quiet, the neighbors walking their dogs are friendly, and a short walk beyond the marina takes you to a nice stretch of beach. Water access for the kayaks under the house is next door. Our hosts were very responsive, and they list lots of local information - activities, stores, restaurants.
Our family of nine, with age range from 73 to 3, had the most amazing stay at Don and Elizabeth's home. It was beyond our expectations. The house had everything available to us to accommodate all our varied interests. The view was like no other and loved that you could enjoy the beautiful Chasapeake Bay from many locations, both inside and out. Their community was very welcoming, and many stopped to chat with us and offer suggestions on everything from finding fossils/shark teethe, to restaurants and places to visit. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrises and loved sitting on the deck in the evening stargazing. The little beach was just a short walk down their road where the grandkids found shells and rocks and the beach passes came in handy for a short drive to Long Beach. We are hoping, God willing, to make a return visit next year.
This was the 4th time returning for our family getaway at Don & Elizabeth's beautiful home on the bay! Thank you for sharing your home with us.

Don and Elizabeth live in Washington DC, with two charismatic spaniels named Gatsby and Merlin. We are (20) year residents of Washington DC and love the Western Shore of Maryland. We acquired the Long Beach property in May of 2016 and spend much of our time here, and we are looking forward to sharing this truly spectacular property on a unique block.
