This recently renovated 1950s cabin is located on a serene river, framed by majestic redwoods. This home which we nicknamed Benny, is ideal for a couple or a small family. Drift to sleep listening to the soothing sounds of the river and the towering trees, or take a dip on a hot day from the river in your back yard. Views from the cabin are a blend of sunlight and forest encapsulating the Japanese concept of a "forest bath”, promoting wellness and peace. While feeling a world away, our retreat is only 1h20m from San Francisco, 25m from Santa Cruz, and 6 minute walking distance to the tiny charming town of Ben Lomond- which offers a large supermarket, several restaurants/cafes and the perfect neighborhood dive bar. The lofted bedroom offers a super comfortable king-sized bed and the option to add a single bed and/or crib for children. The downstairs couch converts into a comfortable queen sized bed. The kitchen is equipped beyond the basics and is well suited for those who love to cook and bake. The living room will make you want to cozy up for movies, read or write a book, or play from our collection of games & puzzles. We have high speed internet which supports streaming and video calls for those who wish to work remotely. In the warmer months, our fully furnished deck becomes and extension of the home for you to soak in the sun and redwoods after a day spent enjoying hiking the local parks or our secret swimming hole in the San Lorenzo River. As an artist and woodworker couple, we lovingly restored this home- filling it with our handmade ceramics and hardwood furniture, as well as furnishing it with selected antique furniture and vintage decor. The bathroom is new but retains the mid-century feel of cabin with a few modern touches such as Toto Japanese washlet and a washer/dryer.
