An ode to slow living, we are a peaceful & quaint homestay on a small hillock overlooking the Talpona river in Canacona, South Goa. A hideaway homestay built with traditional building methods using mud, lime and wood, it is born out of our passion for natural building and sustainable living. Everything is made by us with love and care, the house is full of inspiration and creativity, we are so proud of it and would love to share our home with people from all over the world. Our place is not a commercial homestay or a hotel, it is a more immersive experience that will connect you with us as a family, with nature and in a sense with yourself. We are a tiny hideaway where we live, work and celebrate life as it is offered to us without any expectations. Our focus is more on sustainability, creativity, heathy living, curiosity and a zest for learning something new. We invite you to join our alternative slow living in harmony with nature in the jungles of South Goa.

We had a lovely time staying in the house. The ingenuity of the building itself and the simplicity of living in the house was very comforting. The decorative tiles are also a joy. The kitchen is a bit of a tight space for two people, but we were very grateful for it - we cooked and ate very comfortably. We loved the natural light in the bathroom. There are also some very nice sit-out spots. Guddu was there to help us check-in and -out, and was very responsive with drinking water and directions to grocery stores and the like. For people who live in the state, it seems like a perfect spot to rest when you're visiting South Goa: private, comfortable, beautiful, convenient.
The place is clean, beautiful and well equipped. Great experience. Family is friendly and warm.

The bread baked by Sumit's wife Sasha was tasty. As cautioned in advance by Sumit that there were sightings of a Leopard before our stay & unfortunately his 3 pets were taken by a Leopard before we reached his place. The presence of a Leopard in the close surrounding was little scary as we were staying with our Pet. The essential food supply of Tea/Coffee/ Milk powder/ Maggie/ Wafers/ Biscuits & some munchies is advised as the place is little away from General stores. The medical kit is a must for any emergency. If possible keep an antidote of snake venom too. Otherwise the place is nice for backpackers & bachelors to get a different experience of staying in the wild.
We had a brilliant stay at Sumit and Sasha's. Sumit and Sasha are very accomodating, industrious, and passionate about working with natural materials. The house is a delight to be in, very meticulous built with great attention to detail. You can feel the kind of time and effort that went into it. Location-wise, it's a bit cut-off from everything but that suited us perfectly. The drive up to the place was beautiful. Just a quick tip: do ask Sumit to take you up a small hiking trail to the top of the mountain. The view is stunning.

Our house is located on a small hillock by the Talpona river in Sadol-xem village (pronounced as Sadoshe).
Our village is split into 2 parts by an old blue bridge over the Talpona river and it looks like the Goan grapevine that passes over to other parts of the world had missed this place in their update and we hope that this part of Goa would stay as pristine as it is. Beautiful lagoons, slanting coconut trees, empty roads, green landscape, pristine beaches- all of them subliminally will talk to you to slow down.
Located in the extreme south of Goa, Canacona is more green, wild and untouched compared to north of Goa. We are located on a small hillock overlooking the Talpona river in the village of Muthal near the famous blue bridge of Sadol xem (pronounced as Sadoshe).
South Goa's most pristine and untouched beaches of Talpona, Rajbagh and Galgibagh are just 5-10 minutes far. It is possible to walk or we can call tuktuk/taxi for those who want some leisure. Famous beaches of Palolem, Agonda are 15 - 20 mins perfect for shoppings or relaxing at a beach shack or trying some authentic world cuisine at famous restaurants and bars.
We are at the edge of Cotigao wildlife Sanctuary with many waterfalls and longer day trips can also be organised on request. Private boat trip to backwaters/beaches/islands can also be arranged.

Namaste My name is Sumit. My wife, Alexandra (Sasha) is from Russia and we have two kids, a 3 yrs & a 6 months old We do everything that a normal family does in thier life. Recently, we have discovered great satisfaction in natural building, pottery, wood-work & this BnB is one of our passion projects. We live in an old Portuguese house with river view in South Goa & would like to invite people from all over the world to our small abode.
