Our trip to Dublin was superb, thanks to our amazing hosts!! So delicious breakfasts and the house and the neighbourhood were lovely. June and Susan are so friendly, thoughtful and helpful, the best hosts ever!
June & Susan were the best Air B&B hosts ever! Their place was so incredibly cute & I felt right at home. They were fantastic to chat with, making the experience so wonderful! They gave me so many awesome recommendations of places to go & a bus card with clear instructions. I made it in and out of Dublin with ease on my first ever solo trip. The bed in the room was so comfortable & the shower was awesome! They also made me delicious coffee & an incredible Irish breakfast. I couldn’t have asked for anything better! I HIGHLY recommend staying with them. I certainly plan to go back and recommend friends to their location.
Possibly the warmest welcome I’ve ever had at an Airbnb. Felt like we were visiting family. Such a great place and amazing hosts. June gave us fantastic recommendations - not only for Dublin but for the rest of Ireland too. Wish we’d stayed longer!
We absolutely loved our stay with June and Susan! Cannot say enough how kind and accommodating these two people are. Their home was comfortable and we had everything that we needed. We wish we could have stayed longer and would definitely recommend anyone considering their home to book it.
The Autobahn pub is one street from the house and serves decent food, including a daily carvery from 12pm - 3pm and a La Carte from 4-9pm. The Tram Café in Albert College Park is located in period stables and serves nice cakes, sandwiches, and ice creams (and on Friday evenings, there's homemade pizza and live jazz). The Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin Cemetery, and the infamous Gravediggers pub, with its delectable tapas menu (Tue-Sat 12-8pm): my No. 1 recommendation!) are a few minutes away by car or bus. Phibsborough is also buzzing with pubs, eateries, and the newly-opened gig venue *The Racket* at The George Bernard Shaw. Also worth a visit: The Phoenix Park, as well as being home to Dublin Zoo, it's fab for a long stroll or a drive-thru to see the resident deer 🦌
Dublin Bus *DO NOT ACCEPT* bank notes, credit/debit cards, or phone payments. It's exact change (coins) only. The cheapest way to get around is to use a LEAP card, which can be used on buses, the Luas tram, and the city DART train. You can purchase a visitor's LEAP card at the airport in various formats: 1-day, 2-day, week-long, etc. (€16 for 3 days). We also have a LEAP card at the house for your use, but you will need to top it up with € in any 'PayZone'/newsagents/shop.
There is a bus stop one street away with two buses. The No. 9 that passes Dublin City University, the Botanic Gardens, Phibsborough, Broadstone Luas stop and goes on into the city centre. And the N4, which travels down Collins Avenue past DCU, Drumcondra, and to the Point Depot/02 and the Dublin docklands. The 11 bus nearby (8 mins walk) goes to University College Dublin and the southside of the city, while a short stroll away there are a number of different buses traversing the city centre also, Dun Laoghaire and the seaside town of Bray (No. 155)
